Just noticed a very tidy 1 owner white 89 RRC for sale at $7500.
Would make a great collector, with books and just driven to church and shops.
This looks so pristine, I am almost tempted but would end up with a divorce.

Something is not right here.:eek:The awful spelling?
Or the fact it's had a front end crash at one point?

How can you tell it's had a front end crash, just from the photos?
You must have a good eye for these things, as I didn't notice it at all :o

It might not have had a front end crash but for a car that's supposed to be all original a couple of things don't look right.
The driving lights are not originals.
There's a Land Rover badge on the grille (only came out with the 3.9 engine).
The side repeater lenses look Taiwanese judging by the fading.
There could well be genuine reasons for the changes of course.

It has brown trim:o I always thought the 89s had a grey interior with the cloth seats. Not a 88 as has late wood panels in doors and looks like a viscous transfer.
As far as price goes, I turned down a 94 soft dash at around 7K:eek:
Does appear very tidy though. I will be surprised if they get the 7.5K .

Have to be a very late 89,

Late 89 were 3.9 and grey trim. Most early 89s had concealed hinges. They sure did mix things for a bit:eek:

What's the last year of the 2 door ones ?
Also what year did the soft dash start (obviously ran through to 1994/5 when the changeover to P38 was occuring)

What's the last year of the 2 door ones ?
In UK around 1984. Some were still built for other markets after this. Seen one here.

I always thought 94 but may have apeared in late 93?

Should I have called it a Not so tidy RRC?
This does to me look like a very good sample indeed.
It may have non original fog lights-Thank god I can only say.
Having entered some Landy comps and runner up on most original overall out of 100 or so.
I feel this would take it out.
Not even Land rover knew exactly what hinges and what this and that at what times were being built.
This is a good honest model and if I had room for it, it be residing in my garage and not loose a cent over the next 5 years.
Its barely run in.

I still cant see 7.5K in it;)
I only paid 2K for mine a few years back and was in mint condition with no major issues.
Mine the day I picked it up  I just had to take it home:angel:

I'm hopeful of finding a LSE soft dash in similar condition for less than 7K.:)

Looks fine to me, built date is probably '89, first regoed in '90 no doubt. It is a very early 3.9 viscous case model. Need to see a VIN to be 100% certain. I have a customer with an almost identical vehicle, just clocked over 190K, and is a 1990.

Interesting.... So does it have brown trim and the 3.5 being a late 89 model? I am still learning on Rover history as my reading matter and experience is apparently not very accurate these days:( Not that it worries me at all. Always interesting to discover a diference:)

Many apologies Tony and all, re read the ad and it states 3.5:o No, it is NOT what I thought it was, must be the very last 3.5 though, as I said I have a customer witha 1989/1990 3.9 looks identical.
Wouldn't pay 7.5 with a 3.5:(

Thats all OK:) I would never doubt what you have seen as you have had many more encounters than I have in the past. It seems that the brown or tan trim did continue into the late 89's in cloth trim with the 3.9:)
I think 4Kish will pull this one up at the high end unless is very special.

Seen that Rangie on carsales. Too dear no matter which way you look at it it's a 20 year old Rangie and is worth no more the $4K IMO but I am cheap so they're you go.
3.9 Rangies up here in QLD are hard to come by for a reasonable price, most are too exxy and rusty to boot as well

There are many RRC's around.
I have myself had many and if I was in the market for a clean and tidy unit as a base, this one be the one.
Its not too dear, I have seen many that have been bought and few measure up.
This thing is almost a classic as the name suggests, its just an honest unit.
Wow, I harp on as if I had a vested interest, better stop now.
Its a good deal and I would say a good offer would secure a bargain.
If only I had the room.
