Hi,

I have come across a 2000 TD5 defender. 160k with a factory bull bar, tow bar, snorkel and driving lights. TXfer case has weep and the tyres are low. Apart from that all seems Ok with body work good for age etc.
Asking Is $13500.

Does this sound about right for the dollars?

Cheers

if its genuine and nothing wrong with it... i'd not hesitate at ripping his arm off...

Sounds very cheap for 2000 with those Kms.

I'd have thought vehicles like that would be more in the $16K - $18K + range....

ECU will be non-flashable in a 2000

We sold our 2000 TD5 Defender for $20K but it was a gem.

Thanks for the replies, I ve done a little more since and found the suspension bushes are a little tired, but sale includes new nolathane bushes.

Tops of front guards have some slight ripples (maybe people been sitting on them?) not really noticeable until really looking. ECU is apparently from a D2.

cheers.

In which case the temp gauge will go backwards.

Yeah that was my understanding too. If its running the Discovery maps you cant swap it around.

Thankyou all for your input.
I haven' pulled the ECU out to check numbers nor connected the Nanocom up, to know exactly what ECU is fitted.

It looks like Im going to pass on this truck. I was toying with an upgrade from our little Mitsi Galant, when I came accross this in the local rag. Unfortunately (for me) it came up when I wasnt really thinking of spending this much and I need to ditch the Mitsi to really manage it.
I think someone is actually going to get a pretty good truck for the money, just not me....:(:(
Thanks again for the input.
