a special function that will allow the driver to start the Defender in first gear in low range

The 2010 Land Rover Defender 90 is set to arrive in Australia early next year*. 25% shorter than the Defender 130, and 16% shorter than the Defender 110, the 90 is packed with all the upgrades and features that have reinvigorated interest in the Defender name.
The 2.4 litre common rail diesel engine offers increased torque over the previous engine, manual 6 speed gearbox provides lower first gear ratio for better off-road control, and a high sixth gear for improved cruising. There's the Land Rover Command Driving Position, four channel anti-lock braking system, Electronic Traction Control and of course, permanent four-wheel drive and centre locking differential.
The cabin has air conditioning, high output heating, improved seats for four adults, including full size forward facing second row seats with cloth trim. There's a stereo radio with in-dash CD player, electric front windows and heated rear window and headlamp levelling. Options include metallic paint, sun hatch, dual finish alloy wheels, and MTR tyres.
Contact your local dealer now or click here for more information about Defender 90.
Sincerely
The Land Rover Australia Team
They're talking orders now for Feb 2010 delivery.

I wish I was cashed up thought I'd still be sorely tempted by the 110DC.

It's strange how everyone loves 90s in Australia but when they are available nobody buys them.
It must be something to do with either having people OR luggage.
Short anything ( Pajero, Suzuki, Prado,Rav4) do not sell in OZ.
