Check 1, 2 , 1 ,2 check.

It's a commuter, goes on road, then bike path, then through a creek and along a couple of km's of dirt track, then road, then path, then train, then dependent on work location either dodging syringes in the gutter for a few km's or along a harbour foreshore scoping for boobies.

and it has xcountry muddies on it.

Love my Freeride and Down hill but unfortunatly I probibly put more k's in on the road comuting to work but it's on a MTB with slicks over gutters, down stairs, on the road, off the road anyway I can get there that's fun :) AND there is definatly NO Lycra !

Can't do this poll either. Everyone forgets track! 90% road, 10% track. Am I the only track rider here?

MTB all the way ( just entered the Dirtworks 100k yesterady in fact ), you get to see bush, trees, nature, jumps, washouts, get some air, drift a few corners, get muddy & dirty...have a good laugh when you muck up one of the above and get stuck in a tree...ride in the bush at night etc...need i say more?

Road...you get to look at a white line.....and dodge cars....and wear lycra.

For me, mountainbiking is a lot like 4x4ing.

I drive my landie on bitumen because I have to, I drive offroad because it is FUN.

On a mountainbike you get to see nice scenery, and you aren't breathing in pollution all the time.

That is just the way I see it.

 Whenever you post a poll there is always at least one... :D :D :D

I did say: road, bike path, etc... - would it have helped if I said "smooth surface constructed of bitumen, concrete, wood, etc..."??? ;) :D

Downhill racing is my hot cup of tea. Dabble in abit of 4X/dirt jumping, and do the odd XC lap from time to time.

'cept around here I have great scenery and no pollution whether on or off road :D

...and the on road is nearly as rough as the off

Which is why my old roadie ride is a frame made for the pavé

I tried the XC way home today, first time on a bike. Up a decent sized hill then onto the dirt, over the ridge then back into suburbia. The hills on bitumen no matter how bad the road is easy compared to riding uphill on wet dirt. I am far from fit and admit to getting off and walking up one or two hilly bits. I dare say even one or two fit riders would at least take a breather.

The down hill bits on the dirt is fun, I could see this DH stuff could be very addictive, the potential for self inflicted injuries is off the chart but then again so is riding anywhere near a toss pot taxi driver donning a mobile phone.

Ex MTB but road for the last 5 years (Brisbane's river loop mainly) although did some MTB in the mountains of northern Thailand over Christmas. That was good if you ever get the chance.

Wow never would have picked you for a Trackie, I guess the Spock ears should have given me a clue :p

Do you have a blue jump suit as well? Or is that for Cat Woman's eye's only:angel:

Commuting, touring, shopping, and general purpose getting around.
Basically going anywhere I need to without having to drive.
Particularly getting to/from work as peak hour traffic in Brisbane sucks big time.
