Thanks for the delicious prawns Ean, great flavour :D

We had some last night - just dropped them in boiling salt water for 3 minutes and then dunked the prawns into iced salted water.

Thanks for dropping these off in Gove last Sunday. There were a few people involved............... Derek picked them up and Dale kept them in his freezer and Qantas flew them back to Sydney with us on Tuesday.

Thanks Erich, Glad they made it down still frozen,The only problem, the size Tigers you bought I never offered to people on this forum as I never had alot of that size...They are a Medium size, but glad you liked them and they look pretty good in the photo, cooked up well...

Thats the secret to boiling prawns..Salt water and make sure its boiling before you put them in....

Thanks and cheers Ean

Hi Ean et al,

I was a founding director of this:

Southern Rock Lobster (http://www.southernrocklobster.com/)

and you might find a lot of the info interesting and beneficial. It probably is still a little bit ahead of itself in time, but the benefits to the national and regional economies could already be measured totally in the hundreds of mills.

cheers, DL

Gday DL,
I like the site, and it certainly would have alot of benifits for that fishery.
I was involved in the one our fishery set-up and I beleive it is coming along, but our fisheries biggest problem is ourselves. We cant agree on hardly anything, and we dont sell thru a co-op so we all compete against each other for the same shrinking market.

I was involved in the first private export group from our fishery but the forced reductions and compulsory license surrenders has forced most private operaters from the Northern Prawn Fishery so I ended up back out on my own..This fishery was once this countries premier prawn fishery, but im not sure about these days.

We are slowly getting our act together, but there is a big devision between private and company operaters, and the being Managed by people who have never seen a prawn trawler just makes it that little bit harder.

The Australian Demestic seafood market could be totally supplied by Australian seafood, but , thru various reasons and being lazy on our fisheries behalf cause we had the Japaneese market to ourselves, being one..It is supplied mainly by imported seafood.

Slowly but surely we will win some of it back, and we have an Add campaign being launched soon, but it will be along hard slog im sure..

Thats my whinge, I will try and find the website Address to our fishery..

Cheers Ean

Erich

My mouth is watering waiting for our prawns from Ean.

Just saw a vietnamese cooking show on SBS where they skewered each prawn, then cooked them on the BBQ, and ate them shell and all. Must try that...
