RE: Christmas Party

I'm happy to inform you that the company Christmas Party will take place on December 23rd, starting at noon in the private function room at the Grill House. There will be a cash bar and plenty of drinks! We'll have a small band playing traditional carols...please feel free to sing along.

And don't be surprised if the Managing Director shows up dressed as Santa Claus! A Christmas tree will be lit at 1.00 p.m.

Exchange of gifts among employees can be done at that time; however, no gift should be over $10.00 to make the giving of gifts easy for everyone's pockets.

This gathering is only for employees! The Managing Director will make a special announcement at the Party.

Merry Christmas to you and your Family.

Pauline

RE: Holiday Party

In no way was yesterday's memo intended to exclude our Jewish employees. We recognize that Chanukah is an important holiday, which often coincides with Christmas, though unfortunately not this year. However, from now on we're calling it our 'Holiday Party.' The same policy applies to any other employees who are not Christians. There will be no Christmas tree or Christmas carols sung. We will have other types of music for your enjoyment.

Happy now?

Happy Holidays to you and your family,

Pauline

RE: Holiday Party

Regarding the note I received from a member of Alcoholics Anonymous requesting a non-drinking table...you didn't sign your name. I'm happy to accommodate this request, but if I put a sign on a table that reads, 'AA Only,' you wouldn't be anonymous anymore!!!! How am I supposed to handle this? Somebody?

Forget about the gift exchange, no gift exchange allowed now since the Union Officials feel that $10.00 is too much money and Management believe $10.00 is a little cheap.

NO GIFT EXCHANGE WILL BE ALLOWED.

RE: Holiday Party

What a diverse group we are! I had no idea that December 20th begins the Muslim holy month of Ramadan, which forbids eating and drinking during daylight hours. There goes the party! Seriously, we can appreciate how a luncheon at this time of year does not accommodate our Muslim employees' beliefs, perhaps the Grill House can hold off on serving your meal until the end of the party - or else package everything up for you to take home in a little foil doggy bag. Will that work?

Meanwhile, I've arranged for members of Weight Watchers to sit farthest from the dessert buffet and pregnant women will get the table closest to the toilets, Gays are allowed to sit with each other, Lesbians do not have to sit with gay men, each will have their own table.

Yes, there will be flower arrangements for the gay men's table, too.

To the person asking permission to cross dress - no cross dressing allowed.

We will have booster seats for short people. Low fat food will be available for those on a diet. We cannot control the salt used in the food. We suggest those people with high blood pressure taste the food first. There will be fresh fruits as dessert for Diabetics, the restaurant cannot supply 'No Sugar' desserts. Sorry!

Did I miss anything?!?!?!?!?!

RE: The ******** Holiday Party.

Vegetarian bastards - I've had it with you people!!! We're going to keep this party at the Grill House whether you like it or not, so you can sit quietly at the table furthest from the 'grill of death', as you so quaintly put it. You'll get your ****** salad bar, including organic tomatoes, but you know tomatoes have feeling, too. They scream when you slice them. I've heard them scream. I'm hearing them scream right NOW!!

Hope you all have a rotten holiday * drink, drive, and die!

The Bitch from HELL!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

RE: Pauline Lewis and Holiday Party

I'm sure I speak for all of us in wishing Pauline Lewis a speedy recovery, and I'll continue to forward your cards to her.

In the meantime, Management has decided to cancel our Holiday Party and instead, give everyone the afternoon of the 23rd December off with full pay

Gold Tim :D........but alas if we don't make a stand in general....things will go that way. For example...last night at my son's (19mths old) Xmas do for Day Care......they had to mention for legal reasons...was there any parents who objected to their children being filmed/ photographed as the kids were on stage singing Xmas songs etc. Now nobody put there hand up and everyone....as they should...filmed and photo'd their little darlings...mine included :)......having fun.

In terms of Australia....whether you believe in religion/God or not...we are a Christian country built on Christian values and we should not have to change the way we do things to accomodate other religions................its the other way round. Also as a fat bloke who loves a beer or 10.......stick me next to the buffet and bar please :D,

Regards

Stevo

:D That is Funny , no more Xmas ( Holiday ) Party after exchange of so many emails, It is sad that there is elements of truth in those Emails and Political Correctness has become a way of life , although I'm not sure about Ramdan is in December months.

remember the thousands of men and woman who died in ww1 and ww2 to give us a country and a way of life that we enjoyed in the past and of late we seem to have a bunch of gutless politicitions who will never have the morally acceptable honour to stand with in a bulls roar of doing for our country as our diggers in ww1 and ww2 did

Once again our anti social government department is not having any sort of Christmas party so I have once again offered to have a do at my place.

I have put everyone under no illusion that this will be a no kids hard drinking affair intended to let off some steam after yet another crappy year.

Whats got me worried is that everyone that has said they are comming say they plan to be a bit naughty and run amok!!

Perhaps I need to up my insurance.

It would be funny if it was not so close to the truth.

Was funny, wonder if you will be chastised for the naughty words??

While we are a magnificent country with an awesome & diverse culture we are WAY over done on the Political Correct :toilet:, Mini America here we are.

Some places are no longer allowed to have a christmas tree on display in a Christian based country how sad....:(

The irony of this is that it is usually arse hole Christians, like that ****** Clover Moore, who ban them, only because she wants to win non Christian votes at the next election, not because anyone, Christian or otherwise, has actually complained.

yeah, gone are the times when we actually had freedom of choice on a lot of things. There is so much we shouldn't do cause we might hurt ourselves or offend a MINORITY............

Hi every one

It is getting sad, I have been working at the same place for 28 years now and for the last 10 years I have put on a free breakfast BBQ or somethink like that on the 23rd this year I'm putting on a free BBQ breakfast as well a prawn lunchon with light drinks and after work if anyone like to have a good drink with there work mates at my place, of course this is all free, we sell cans of soft drinks all year to pay for this...
My new boss has just asked me what about the poeple that don't eat seafood what will I put on for them, Hey if they don't eat seafood stiff s..., dont come, so now I'm just having the breakfast, I will put free prawns on but they have to come to my place and have a few free drinks, it has been a tradistion with my work mates but its always me doing the hard yard and now I'm having others telling me what we can do as my boss has also said we can't even have some light beers incase someone gets to drunk, told him there will only be 2 light beers each, how sad thing are getting, years ago we use to have a Christmas party of 300 now they are flat out having 30 from a place that has over 400 poeple...
Sorry for the ravings, I just think things are going over board...

Merry Christmas all

Ashley
