Just got home and found a dog mauling my kids pet goat:mad::mad::mad: The dog took off but I happened to be carrying a 243 so the dog stopped real quick.
The goat is in bad shape and I hate animals suffering so unsure what to do yet:( For now I have given her antibiotics and moved here into a hay shed. I don't really like goats but this one is a lovely animal so I bring my self to put her down:(. The kids are going to be devastated when I tell them.
If she suffers to much I'll do the right thing:(

good job on the dog, I hate dogs going on a rampage - had to bury 30+ goats myself once and put a few down after a pair of boxers decided the goat's throats didn't belong attached to their necks anymore...

That certainly isn't nice :o especially for the kids! :(
Worst I get in the burbs is the occasional cat fight.

Just spent the last two hrs with the goat:( Ive done all I possibly can now... She went into shock for a wile but I think I have managed to bring her around. I always thought I was a hard bastard but this poor innocent thing sent me to tears:eek: Some animals a more human than we think.
Was like this....She was on her side shallow breathing saw me and called out. I sat beside her and propped her up next to me and the whimpering was what cut me up:( After a long wile the shallow breathing stopped and I thought she was gone. Next thing a deep breath and started breathing again. When I left her she is now standing up so a good sign. So long as a major infection doesn't occur if I can stop her dehydrating we have a chance.

We've had similar with dogs in our Geese. 5 or 6 maimed in one go. Wished I'd had a 243 with me.....
Hope she pulls though.

Yep that's the goat. We had set her free for a wile but started eating the trees so put her back on the lead. Poor thing had no way of escape. :(I feel real bad now for this reason.:(
The dog is a long story.:( Just shows how well behaved your dogs are:cool: They never were a threat at all wile you were here:)

All the best with this one.
Hope for the kids and the goat all turns out good.

So many animals are little human beings trapped in a furry shell.
I hope she pulls through, keep us up to date.
I also hope that she doesn't freak into the future.

"yana" and "Jasmine" were never a threat were they? although Yana at times tried to round up your Goat being a Kelpie.but being a domesticated dog she never posed a threat.

My heart goes out to you and your family especially your kids.
I have two cats and I know I would be shattered if anything happened to them.

Sorry to hear that the pet goat did not make it. After the initial hump we though she was going to make it.
