Hi all,
Well its been a few years since the old Fendy 03 has had air con, I want to get it fixed for the Mrs.

I got the Fendy under warranty and they fixed it a couple of times and it rusted out the foot well of the driver side and they fixed it, the rust was just under the peddles(check under the mats after a big rain).

But my question is would it cost more or does anyone know who can help me with maybe stripping the old air con out, and starting with a fresh one that can chill the beast right down like a truck one. It would be good if it had the power to vent into back for the kids.

Am fitting one now. Will be done the end of next week, just in time for a trip up the range for a camping Chrissy doo. Should do the job very well. I am out of room in the engine bay and to the front of the radiator due to mods just completed. Will let you know how it goes and considering the we are warming here it should get a good workout.

Please post a full report on this, as I had that very unit in mind. I'm not going to use that now, but probably another Red Dot unit behind the cab, as my vehicle is a ute.

From my experiences with LC80 and LC100's, the Toyota people wont be laughing at anybody. They are by far the worst AC units I've ever experienced in a car - with the exeption of my old Toyota Sprinter, which again was a Toyota. Just the fact that Defenders have dash vents by itself makes them better.
