1996 300tdi Defender. RIP. Sales manager rolled it and apart from a sore neck... amazing really but I am a bit sad because this was my first Defender and I used it for several years... Yet to hear what insurance etc will do since it only happened day before yesterday.

Those pictures say "roll cage" to me (or at least a Milford cargo barrier) :(

I'm still not sure how he did it but with no-one else involved I'd say a left hand bend and too fast. It had a steel home-made cargo barrier and a steel box in the back that I think kept the back end reasonably upright. If you look at the pic also on the left are two mild steel sq section tubes that bolted the steel bit of the roof to the steel capping - to hold the spare tyre carrier - and that also seems to have helped. However it was even flatter than this at the front they pulled the roof up a bit so they could tow it back to the office! Engine bay reasonably untouched although oil did come out somewhere. Project time indeed. Luckily this started life as a hicap pickup so I think I have all the bits (except front doors and that windscreen!), just depends on what gets negotiated with the insurance! All the other bits as mentioned will go into spare parts bin. Chassis and axles seem ok since it tracked straight when towed back...!

Trouble is I've got this to get ready for Rhino Charge by end May. Taking bits out of it to put into another Classic RR to be built into the same thing from scratch. New bits go in no 21. The other car is the "chicks" car who have decided to compete next year... Plus an old Falcon thats been waiting several years to restore... spoilt for choice!:cool:

Rhino charge is an awesome event - probably one of the toughest 4x4 events in the world, and dominated by LR. :D

As long as the chassis is straight, that 110 can surely be repaired.
