Anyone got a lathe I could spend some time on? Nothing fancy basic machining, will trade beer or parts time etc

My best mate had one in his shed for 5 years.
Sold it for basically nothing 4 weeks ago.

I will keep my ears open, lots of subbys I work with probably have one.

Metal Lathe I presume?

I have one which is sort of "brand new in box" set up in a corner of my garage for future projects, for when I retire. Thought I'd better buy it whilst I still had an income! It's only a Taiwanese one, but is 36" BC I think and can cut threads. I've got the power to it, so it spins up, but that's as far as I've got.

If you had time to teach me a few basics on it you are welcome to use it. Does that sound like a fair swap?

I am up at Balhannah BTW .

That unit looks great.

That put the one I had in shed to shame big time.
Look no further.

No - sorry. Re tooling - got a few indexable bits from the same mob from eBay.

...and as a thought i have never seen cigi or zig zag papers for sale

Is this thought relevant to the lathe stuff - or am I missing something here..... :D
