Did what was suggested here under Option B: ABS Mod - Land Rover Club V.I. (http://www.landroverclubvi.com/abs-mod.html)
to my ABS Modulator. My thanks to whoever wrote the article. It cost nothing apart from a couple of electrical connectors & 2hrs of my time including bleeding the brakes with Nanocom. Jeez!, those amigos bugged me, I don't know why I didn't do the fix sooner, it's so easy.
Also replaced the injector harness & the MAF with a genuine unit. Now "it" revs freely above 3k rpm instead of running out of steam. What a different vehicle now. It seems also that the 2150rpm drone has been all but silenced too due in part to the new engine mounts. You might notice that it still an "it" & not the more fuzzy "she" We need time to bond again.
Now to find the little gremlin that works the starter motor with the ignition in position II after driving in heavy rain. He also invokes his "mate in rain" - the dashboard instruments/electric windows/indicators/central locking killer.
