Ther'e probably a whole other thread about this on here somewhere else but I was away in Sept and Oct.
The Sept and Oct editions of LR Monthly had an after martket under dash ac system for 300tdi and TD 5 Defenders.
Anyone know the following;

1. Any good?
2.Cost landed in Australia
3. Would they suit a 1986 County. Mine has the low level heater vents etc and speakers where theirs is shown.
Realise it may take some jiggery pokery to get it to fit but I do like the feel of ac on my face whe it's hot.
Not sure about the one at the rear blowing cold air down the back of my neck or the one in the roof one that requires holes to be cut in the roof:eek:

I just fit one of these in an 83. The unit fits snugly over the heater vents with foam gaskets. It was a breeze to install on a 300 tdi but it took me considerably longer than the 4hrs the manufacturer states. The unit had Land Rover part # stickers all over it. My understanding is Elite was the supplier to Rover of a/c units for the 300 tdi and Td5 models (thats what their website claims). Nice unit.

my new bulkhead arrives on tuesday i will be making the measurements then to see how the air con unit fits ....am of the mind to move the fuse box to the face of the passenger dash and cut the dash in half in effect re-inforce it for ease of fitment may not require that, just that i have the whole thing apart i can do a total custom fit.

I had scanned the installation instructions for the Elite system into my computer as a pdf. It covers both right and left hand drive versions. It may make good reading if you are trying to decide what route to go. Happy to send it -shoot me an email and I'll attach it to the response.

I had posted a couple of pictures and narration here http://dividingcreekroverimports.com/recent_projects

Looks good Maryland.

Given the look of the weather and the fact that th US has just had a
little :eek: dump of snow it's probably hard to make a call on the efficacy of the unit.
I will send an email however regards the fitting instructions.

Obvously the 83 is one of the first 110's ( I have an 83 , Series 3 , 109" Stage One also ) and the tdi is a retrofit ?
