My Hevac system seems to work fine in auto mode with the fan speeds increasing and decreasing ok automatically. I think I might have a problem with the big fan control wheel on the Hevac unit which does nothing to change the fan speed. Before I start taking the unit out for a look and knowing there has been some energetic cable pulling from behind in the past is there a separate plug on the back for fan speed which might have come off or is there just one for everything?

From memory there is a big multi plug for the hevac control module.
Even if there is more than one, I very much doubt that the fan control would be isolated to a separate connection.
If it is in AUTO mode and you touch the fan control, it should go out of AUTO mode and the fan speed indicator (dotted lines at the top of the screen) should increase and decrease as you turn in either direction.

true... and it's not just one small turn of the knob either... something like 90deg to get it to move up 1 bar

yep, thats how mine works too... you gotta ring its neck to make it move a click or two! Funny, I always thought it was a little strange... not surprised to find strange is normal with a p38 though!!!:D

There are several cables. We've written up info on removal here:
