Have been a listener for many years. What do I like. His attitude to Australiana and the many and varied aussies from home and overseas that ring in.When overseas it is like a breath of fresh air to expats.Nothing like word from home.

I only listen if I am driving and have radio service. Usually if I am driving, I don't have any radio service at all (because of where I work).

It's odd because I like the show in theory but I'm one of the minority of people who find him really abrasive. I often try to listen and I always fail to enjoy it.

he started off well (eons ago) but it is yet another instance of someone staying in a cushy job beyond their use-by date

I haven't listened in nearly 20 years (we used to get him when we lived on Norfolk Island).

Can't stand him, he is so full of his own importance it is sickening. I also know a few people who have had the mis-pleasure of being interviewed by Macca and they have all said "never again".

He's on the alarm clock that wakes me up..
That means I get out of bed quicker than weekdays:D.
I find that he will chat to country people ( & finds out quicksmart where they live) but if anyone says they are a city slicker, he's pretty abrupt with them:(

Have not listened to him for about 15 years. Used to enjoy the show while having a late lazy day breakfast.

Can see what people say about abrasive though as he liked to speak to people who agreed with him and would cut short those who did not. Also he did not like the military and would have a put down for anyone who brought this subject up.

Full marks to him though for keeping the show going for so long. He obtained the spot as no one else wanted it at the time which gave him the chance to create the show as he wanted it not as a producer demanded.
