My Wifes car is a 92 Sherwood, with the wood veneer, leather seats etc.
Interested to know how many Sherwoods came to Australia.

The Sherwood was a very nice model & looked great with the dark green paint & chrome bumpers.

I'm not sure exactly how many came out here but there weren't many. I think maybe around 5 went through here.

Have you had yours since new? If so, did you have the painting that came with the car?

I have a 1992 Sherwood too, but it is now more 110 than RRC....:o The original owner lives locally , is a customer of mine and owns a Td5 110. He has the painting hanging in his hallway.

I bought it off the second owner, has G force active suspension, HAD a JD 4.7 motor etc etc when I got it. Now has a intercooled 4BD1T, 3" body lift, 2" suspension, 33's, TR LT95, Defender diffs with Detroit locker rear and Maxi axles, longrange tank, but still has that loverly timber and leather interior. Now travelled 375K, but is a bit like grandads axe:o
It'll be passed down to one of my daughters when I get too decrepid to drive it, or I'll be buried in it :)

Sorry to jump in after this thread has stood still for some time but there was one in Perth about 7 or 8 years ago, I considered buying it but it was starting to look a bit shabby and the guy wanted a bit too many $$$$ at the time.

Dontbe sorry. I meant to post some pics. Thinking of putting a 200tdi in it but really it is too original to mutilate. Just clocked 200K but its the rego and mpg are killing us.

Gas will half the running cost.
A diesel conversion will cost you $10k easily!

Alternatively, sell it and and get a diesel Disco!

Just bought a diesel Disco for $2500. Love it.
Dont think I can talk the other into selling ,though it may depend on what its worth.

Scott, the painting or print by Bob Marchant that came with the vehicle do you know how many were done and what they are worth these days? A friend of mine has one and says he was offered $500 for it but he declined. He reckons its worth more sentimentally.

There were 50 Sherwoods produced, although the attached isn't that clear to me whether they were produced in Australia. Attached is from Landrover Experience Magazine Issue 1 1992. I do know that back around that time, to stop "forgeries" you had to produce proof of ownership to buy the Badge Kit, 2 decals "SHERWOOD" & 2 "S's. But one was written off when very new. :D;)

Interesting

I was looking at RRC Sherwood down at RFBYC in Perth a couple of weeks ago. It was certainly looking well used

He reckons its worth more sentimentally. Each car was supposedly allocated a painting originally - someone mentioned here that there was 50 cars so I guess that makes it 50 paintings.

I'm not sure how many owners took the painting though as it was quite sizeable IIRC. I don't think they were prints but I didn't really have a good look at one so I could be wrong.

As to what it's worth, that's anyone's guess - obviously more than $500 to your friend :).

**Google has brought up this:
http://www.range-rover-classic.com/Home/land-rover-brochures/range-rover---australia#TOC-Range-Rover-Sherwood---Limited-Edit
It claims the paintings were just prints.
However, it also claims the Sherwood was sold in 3 colours but it was just the Brooklands Green (happy to be proven wrong but I dealt with many Sherwoods & they were all green).

I have a green one. No picture. Not sure of the owner history. Picture is in the signature link.

Does any one know what happened to the range-rover-classic.com web site. It had a great section detailing all the RRCs released in Oz including the original marketing brochures for the Sherwood. I cannot seem to find the site anymore

Good pic.

I just bought mine on the weekend. Stoked I found one. Would be interesting to know how many are out there still.

Keen to know of any links anyone has to the old painting/print. I want to get my hands on one.

Any Sherwood owners want to make a list of the numbers left ?

Cheers
Will post a pic soon

Welcome Staghunter.

You need part # GAA463, available from any Land Rover dealer.
They're about $3-4 each & LR have 17 available if you want a few for spares.
