What tyres on 7J 15 Rims

Right, so i have buggered up again. Bought what I thought were some 8x16 rims on e-bay. Get them home and check them out and realise they are stamped with 7Jx15 on the back. Fun. They are black sunraysias and I bought them to replace some alloys (standard boost type) on my td5 110. Heres the thing, and I know this has been asked a bazillion times before, but what are the biggest tyres I can put on these rims without rubbing on a standard car?? I was thinking maybe a 32x10.5x15 which is about the same as a 265/75/15 - although the 32 is closer to standard height according to this tyre size calculator

Now I know about offset, Im just not sure how to measure it. I know this will come into play. So how do I measure it?? Any info would be appreciated. I'd like to try and fit tyres to these rims rather than re-sell them. Have done hours of searching on the forum as research and see heaps of stuff about 16 inch rim/tyre combos but not too much about 15's.

Tim (Long Stroke) Old man runs 33/10.5/15 which seems to a good size for a defender running 15's.

I have just been through trying to find tyres for my 15 x 8" rims on my County. Unfortunately nobody makes 32 x 10.5 R15 tyres. The closest is the 32 x 11.5 R15, however i think you need at least an 8" rim to run these tyres. As Benny IIA mentioned there are 33 x 10.5 R15 tyres made by BFGoodrich, however these are big money (i got a quote for $380 each for AT's). From memory you may also need a 2" lift to run these tyres without scrubbing.

I ended up purchasing a set of 31 x 10.5 R15 tyres for my County. These will fit your 15 x 7" rims as well. They are one of the most popular and cheapest tyre sizes, however they are smaller than standard. If i had the money i would buy some 16 x 7" sunraysias and fit 265/75 R16 tyres.

This is a pretty good site (probably Yankee site) for gauging tyre and rim sizes and lists what I understand to be most available sizes. Gives speedo inaccuracies as well. Considering the standard Def issue was 7.5R16 you can see how far out your speedo and economy wil be with small circumference tyres. My Def had 31 x 10.5 R15's and the speedo was way over the actual speed.
