All,
The ACE pump has died on my V8 D2. There's a sharp rapping sound that comes and goes but is mostly present. I suspect a broken spring in one of the cylinders.

I've looked online and have made a few calls and have noticed a huge difference in prices. Anywhere from USD$250 to $AUD1500+.

I've also heard that all spares (ACE pumps included) can be graded as A or B grade. What does this really mean?

This might stand true for things like brake pads or other consumables but I find it hard to believe that a hydraulic pump manufacturer in Germany would produce both A grade and B grade components. Or is this just a strategy from resellers to jack the prices up on the perception that A must be better than B so therefore you should pay more if you want the best...

I need a replacement pump before Christmas but I am very interested in the thoughts and experience of others before buying the pump.

Cheers, Andrew

I believe A grade is genuine parts in genuine packaging, B grade is genuine parts in aftermarket packaging.

C grade is a luck dip.

I think Karcraft have this explained on their website.
