I have ordered a cdl actuator and internals for my 02 D2 TD5 auto and they should arrive tomorrow. Its the Ashcroft shifter and internals etc.
Just wondering if there is anything else I should do while I have the transfer case out of the vehicle. I already plan on doing the auto output seal and transfer input seal as the transfer is leaking already.
The vehicle has 188k km's on it but the transfer is as quiet as a mouse and there is no backlash issues. (compared to my 76 rangie anyway:D)
Any suggestions would be appreciated.
Also anyone ever put the internals in themselves?

I would do all the seals, especially the idler shaft seal.
This is the only leak in my transfer case and I have to remove it to change a $1 "O" ring.
This is assuming it is the same as my D1.

Also check that the main shaft doesn't need resleaving, mine does and it's a big job apparently.

TJS-70Y, How much was the kit landed. I can not decide to go down this path or get a 2nd hand transfer case.
A tutorial would be great, and appreciated.

Thanks for the suggestions Mr Whippy and Baz.
I will have a look at the shaft when I get it apart.
A detailed Tutorial will be attempted when I do it. Just have to collect gaskets and seals etc before I start as the vehicle can't be off the road for too long. Also have to find somewhere to do it as I only have a carport at the moment.
I originally went to Ashcrofts for a price and they had Rovacraft contact me with the final price. Rovacraft have the parts in stock at the moment as well.
The price including freight to Coffs Harbour was $1350 inc GST
I went this way instead of getting a second hand transfer as at the time I couldnt be bothered waiting to find one and I was going to buy the Ashcroft shifter anyway and thought if I am paying the shipping for one bit Why not make it the internals as well. If you are not mechanically inclined I would probably just go a second hand transfer as I am thinking the install will prob be fairly involved. I am looking forward to it though as I like this sort of stuff. I also liked the idea of brand new parts although in reality there probably wouldnt be much difference between the two.
Bundalene should be able to sort you out with the necessary parts if you wish to go that way.
I have some pics of all the pretty bits that come with it.
