Thanks Hodgo. That is a good one. I've just sent the link to myself at work - will be very handy to us up there.

Good one Hodgo. Quite easy to use and no flaming ads.

What's wrong with the BOM site ?
Exactly - why get third party info when you can get it direct from the source?
That said, I do use the WeatherZone Tracker widget because it is handy. :)

What's wrong with the BOM site ?
I find it isn't as user friendly as some other weather sites. I tend to visit weatherzone.

Thanks Hodgo,
Some of the work I do involves research into undersize lobsters which involves actually catching and measuring them.
Lobster fishing (with pots) successfully requires accurate swell and wind info at least 48 hrs in advance.
BOM is absolute rubbish for this. Even the free version of buoyweather is always spot on.
It will be interesting to see how willyweather compares with buoyweather as far as accuracy goes. It certainly loads a lot faster and has a lot of other info like tides at your fingertips.

I like it.
Where I live I have to rely on Sheppartons forcast.
This one actually does Tatura.

What's wrong with the BOM site ?
The presentation and the navigation.
I started using the BOM site years ago, but found there were others that presented the BOM information in a more helpful way.
I often wanted to know the temperature, the wind strength and direction, the tides, the wave and swell height and the likelihood of rain all at once.
I used to be able to get those from a couple of sites. Now it looks as if I can get all of those things from one site.
I still go to the BOM site for the radar images of rain.

anyone know a good site for sea temperature?
I do have one where you click on the map but it's not very accurate due to the small map

The one I nost commonly use is Ocean Currents (CSIRO) (http://www.cmar.csiro.au/remotesensing/oceancurrents/) but depending on where you are determines how much detail you get, but I have always found it good enough ;)
Having a look around at the WillyWeather site, it certainly seems a little easier and more user friendly than the BoM site.

Well ill test its 24 hour predictive ability for Ribbons Reef no.2 and report back to AULRO some time next week :)
Forecast looks great for our leaving Cooktown 'bout 8pm tonight for a NYE reddie bash followed by morning popper session!
