About to purchase a larger intercooler for my 2001 TD5 disco. 'ASE' advertise one for $900. 'TRS' advertise one for a little more and it looks a little different. 'British Off Road' told me they have one for around the $1200 mark. Was offered a 2A disco cooler for $450 but decided to go for the bigger ones on offer. Any opinions or experiences out there which might influence my choice would be greatly appreciated . Thanks, Geoff

Do a search, there are a few threads on here about these.
I believe they are a mongrel to fit on the D2,easier on a fender.

Geoff....
I designed these  and used to sell them exclusive, but its easier to send people direct now.
ASE fabricated them for me (I know Dave as a mate)
TRS sell the same identical unit sourced from ASE.
ASE cores are the most efficient manufactured.
Anything else I can assist you with just ask....

Just fiited one to a D2, everything fits, quality workmanship and it works a treat. ASE good to deal with BUT as they had none in stock had to wait 9 days. Not sure if the Disco and Defender ones are popular or just made to order, didn't ask. Will certainly use them from now on.

I am considering this upgrade to my 2000 Discovery. It is already chipped. can I expect any reliability 'issues' long term with this mod? Will it have + or - effect on my economy?
cheers

I'm probably running one of the first (if not the first???) from Tombie and so far its good news on all fronts.

As per Slunnie... No problems....
A good economy upgrade is to source a D2a intercooler.
These are larger than an early discovery.
