Some scumbag(s) decided to have a go at both the defender and Disco last night... they took the land rover green oval off the back of the Defender, and tried to get the series II badge of the back of the disco..
fortunately they got the green oval off with very little damage, however there are 4 nice big screwdriver scratches on the disco where they didnt manage to get the series II badge off properly... and being mettallic that will be nice to repair!
anyone else round the area (Kinross etc) suffered with this over the last few days?
Thanks
Steve

keep an eye out on ebay, if there is a seller with LR badges check out what they have sold, if it looks fishy ask a few questions to see what response you get..then if the response is vage report them.

Hi,
'Chipsaway' is a good name, we have 'The Touchup Guys' in Hobart.
Sorry to hear about the mindless damage, what the hell will they do with that?
cheers

Going back some years (showing my age now) it was considered "cool" to prise badges off cars like Holdens....179, 186, X2 etc denoting the size/type of the engine.....and stick them onto belt buckles, the big flat buckles. Maybe that's surfacing again?
Used to leave a blessed mess and two big holes in the panels to clean up and/or replace the badges. I lost a 179 badge from an EH Holden that way thanks to some lowlife.
Cheers

Sorry to hear about your hassle, there's always some idiot's trying to spoil your day, probably had a few and it "seemed like a good idea".
I've never had any issues of vandalism in Kinross, just bad luck I think?

When i had the HSV,couldn't keep the badges on it around here.
As soon as i put a new set on & fixed up the screwdriver gouges, within a month they were gone again. They dissapeared at the local shopping centre:(
In the end i gave up,it stayed badgeless until i sold it.

Thats the wierd thing tho... we are at the end of a culdesac (of 3 houses) in a culdesac... so its not like we are visible to anyone... someone must of got lucky or been following us.. im hoping its bad luck... should of listened to the dogs barking next door (except thats pretty normal for them!) thinking of getting an IR beam at the bottom of the drive tho..
Thanks the rest of you... its not the badge missing thats the issue.. its the paint damage! oh well.. not good with the HSV tho scarry... hope that doesnt start happening here!
hopefully Karma will take its revenge
Now... time to phone some people about a badge... :)
Happy new year by the way!
