Simple question, how useful was AULRO to you in 2009?
For me I can't begin to describe how useful it has been and how good the contacts and friends are that I have made in 2009.

There have been a number of people here have been helpful to me and there have also been a number of interesting discussions to which I hope I have added something useful.
The vast majority of members are helpful and well mannered, certainly better than my experience in other fora.

Over the 2-3 years I've been on line here I have gained some great advice. Bought some of the vendor's gear, made by LR lovers for LR lovers. Have meet some wonderful AULROains. Especially at Cooma 08 where I had the privilege to camp with Numpty, Numptys Missues, Bushie, walshy and their close friends.
Its a great set up and continues to grow with every member.

Yep - AULRO is the benchmark for all forums as far as I am concerned. ;)
Bloody useful place and I've made a lot of good mates on here. :)
Many people have given me a hand, and I hope that as my own experience and knowledge has developed I have been able to help others. :)

Have been here for a year & a half & have found all others on here to be very helpful.
Have learnt an unbelievable amount ,not only about LR's,but about a lot of other things as well.
Haven't met many of you guys & girls, mainly due to my own time restraints(being self employed),but am aiming at slowing down in the next few years & getting more some free time.
Thanks again to you all

The first bit of advice we received from AULRO some time back saves us over $200 by not having to buy a replacement part, so I said thanks by becoming a Gold Subscriber.
We have also made quite a number of new friends through this Forum.
Thanks to all, Erich & Sheila

It's the first site I log into after booting up and reading the news.
Anything I need to know about just about anything can be answered here,
It's like Wikipedia with friends I've never met.

This is a very informative site, the knowledge base and the willingness of members to share not only that knowledge but to offer hands on asistance to unknown people with various problems is incredible.
And it's fair coment to also say that it is also a hassle free forum in that it is a friendly place where folk can post without fear of being instantly 'hassled' by 'predator' site members. They don't seem to exist here - Great!
Note to self - must try to meet up with that North East mob this year - time and distance permitting.

A site I visit most days, hopelessly more than once a day.
I enjoy watching the progress on projects people share with the forum. Bundalene's effort on his daughter's 130 was a standout for 2009.
Haven't had to post many questions but it is good to know that members are prepared to share of their knowledge.

While I do find it a little anal at times I do so love the availability of useful information. The people who I have met from the site ( on some drives in Qld & NSW) were great.
All in all I think it is a great place to spend cyber time.

I can too say the site has been very VERY helpful for myself and my rig in 2009. Basicaly have a new motor and bits around it and alot of helpful information to go with it from the guys/gals from this site. A bonus to top it off as well in the way of making some great friends and contacts on here. Always waiting for that next trip or gathering to meet new faces and make more friends.
Thank you Aulro and to all the members for a great year and lets hope 2010 will be nice to our landy's with very few prob's.

I've been told I'm addicted to this site but that couldn't posibly be right:angel: I would only be watching TV anyway:p
There wasn't that much happening here..
Well there was that couple who kept rubbing our noses in their abbillity to travel South doing "the loop" and posting pics.,had to follow that.
And.. the other bloke who couldn't find traveling mates so cracked it and head to the "corner" and beond.
And..the 130 tart-up
And..the gatherings to meet like minded folk:D(2 without my Disco and still made welcome:)).
And..all that searching only to find the answer to most of my questions:clap2:
And that Skulls thread..:Thump:started off nicely, nice pic. of a hallway table but:eek:where has it gone..I gave up but might have one more look:twisted::wasntme:

A phenomenal site, I’ve leant heaps about each one of my landies, meet loads of great people up and down the east coast, and the site was directly responsible for the a group of us setting up and establishing the Gold Coast Land Rover Owners Club.
Add to this the huge boost to the retail side of my business.
Definitely the top site for me.

This site has a multi faceted appeal for me, and, I think, reflects the real world; One's experience here will depend to a large degree on how we perceive the comments of others and how we subsequently approach or utilise this site - we can choose to merely seek specific technical advice, or we may choose to enter debate on a variety of issues and topics.
In relation to this last point, many contentious issues are often debated here; we might even fight (as any large family might do from time to time), but our collective strength, I believe, is our ability to move on and respect a variety of viewpoints. Without doubt, what unites us here is stronger than what divides us. :)
At the end of the day, I simply find it an interesting place to be. But I too went with the Skullers option in the poll because that is clearly the "right" answer! :D

Good one Dan, well cast. A well written piece of prose too, I agree wholeheartedly with your views, believing that as a whole Land Rover owners, by nature are mature (Skullers excused;)), tolerent and unpretentious; attributes required for Land Rover ownership.

I found this forum when I was first considering buying a defender. This forum greatly influenced our decision to take the plunge and purchase our '97 defender. Since then I have become a member, bought parts and sought advice through the forum. I find it an invaluable resource and a great way to relax at the end of the day. Thanks to all the great people that make something like this possible.

I have been thanked many times by people on the thread 'Employment Opportunities' since I started it in Afghanistan, way back on the 4th of July 2008.
Just as much, I thank the forum for the comments they make. It helps keep me a little saner in what, at times, can be an insane world. All of us live in different realities and it is good to be able to communicate and relate with, what I reckon are, like minded people.

BBC... Without doubt, your posts have been truly amazing. You have taken us into a world we would never have a hope in hell of experiencing...and most of us probably wouldn't want to.
When you (eventually) get back to Australia, I (and my wife) would LOVE to sit around a campfire with you and your family and just talk.....
Take care and THANKYOU (again)

Cost me a fortune. A lot of the "accessories" I thought about getting/doing just seem to come up.
However the cost of the "accessories" have been offset by the quick fix and preventative maintenance.

Well I have enjoyed immensely this site, thanks heaps Inc and all for all the hard work and $$ it takes to set up and keep running. I've learnt all sorts of new things in lots of different areas, met in person, and corresponded with, some fantastic people. The Marque is a passion of mine, I just happen to be fortunate to be able to make it a carreer, and this place allows me to talk incessantly about them 24/7( if I could stay awake that long). Sad, isn't it:p. Lucky my wife says I have other redeeming qualities, because sometimes I worry I am a bit one tracked:o
Anyway, Have a good '10 peoples and 'keep it between the ditches'.

The site itself it a credit to the Owner, Moderators & Forum members.
No where else is there amusement, friendliness, the occassional poke at someone all in jest & yes, some of us share the sadness in their life.
We all take for granted the life we are given, yet be it all too short for some. It is a good place to share & be heard if needed.
I Too have met some of the members of this site & it is great we all share a common interest/passion.
Let the fun & frivolity continue.
Just a big thanks:p

A great source of information, and many wonderful people on here.
One thing we all have in common is our passion. Inc turned his passion into a great forum where we can all hang out. At times, SWMBO must think that all I ever do is spend time on here. Come to think of it......:p
The one think that amazes me is the willingness of most people to help. Be it advice on here, or jumping in their truck & going to rescue / help someone who is stuck.
Might have to hang around for a bit longer & see what happens next....:D

I have enjoyed the forum, and learned a lot more about Landrovers but quickly gave up on "Sculls on Radiator" [ did post early on that one] and gave up on "I see Stars." Would have persisted on the evolution thread if this thread had not been cancelled by the moderator. I was coping a lot of flack but do not mind. I did not mind people critisizing my Bible belief, believing in 1 Thessalonians 5:21 which says "Prove all things, hold fast to that which is good." If you cannot look at all objections to your belief you cannot "prove all things." I had written posts in microsoft word, and were going to copy and paste them to the forum. I do that often now having written too may posts which got lost when I tried to post these, so write many of these in microsoft word and copy and paste. Alternatively when like this one I write in the forum reply box, I copy it to clip boardbefore I try to [post incase I loose it.
