Just giving the dash a bit of a dust and noticed a couple of lights on the main console that Ive never noticed before.
Directly above the CDL light and the TC light there is one that says 120 kmh, and another that looks like a couple of cogs with an ''X'' across them.
They wern't illuminated but I could see them there.
Looked on Rave but it dosnt describe what they are for.
I gather one is a speed warning light, but not sure. Any ideas??
Sorry, this is in an 01 Td5 Discovery..

Without looking it up, it could be the transfer case neutral light which IIRC is used in Japan.

ok, found the ''two cogs'' light under Range Rover dash lights section..(Aus 2000/2001),
You were right Graeme, it flashes amber when moved across the "H'' gate when changing range. (automatic gearbox) apparently .. and stops flashing when the transfer case go's in to anothere range..

Its annoying imo that is not connected on all of them, only the Japs and NAS vehicles get them hooked up ?? why ?? knowing the transfer case is in neutral is a good thing imo.
Have looked into "retro" fitting it to mine as I like lights :D but unfortunately the transfer case has a different cast to accept the neutral switch. grrrrrrrr....
The other light 120Km/h is a speed warning for the GULF spec vehicles, comes on at 70mph , I tried that to, enabled my car as a Gulf spec in the BCU, flawed it down the road but the bugger won't come on!! :(

I think your model will have the secondary warning light aswell as an audible alarm that can be heard.
The light will be red and blue and will flash constantly in you rear vision mirror until the vehicle stops....:p

We use to leave the Army landies in the car park with the transfer case in neutral, great anti theft device:D I know of one where the car was running, in gear and door open with the would be thief gone from the scene.

Your right, but also to add to that, this is why both the Jap and NAS spec vehicles have interlocks fitted, with out the key in the igntion its going now where, another thing they should have ALL had imo, (until they fail offcourse and you can drive it anywhere :D )
