Hi All,
I'm chasing a supplier of EBC 2000 series green stuff pads for my D1. Of the suppliers I have called so far none can tell me whether they have 6000 series or 2000 series or can not offer greenstuff pads front and rear.
I'm now looking on UK websites as well as ebay and again no one is stating what series of greenstuff pads they are carrying.
I dont mind ordering from overseas or interstate (I'm based in WA btw). Does anyone have any suggestions of good suppliers or know if these pads are even made for the D1 still (I've read they are no longer produced for the D2...). Better again would be part numbers for the pads as I can not locate an EBC parts list.
I've been pretty set on these pads for a while but now that I'm actually looking to buy them it may not be an option:mad:
Cheers

Locally, through Land Rover places, try:
Rovacraft: Rovacraft (http://www.rovacraft.com.au/contact.html)
or Beechboro 4x4: BEECHBORO 4X4 (http://home.iprimus.com.au/gryphon64/)
I'm now looking on UK websites as well as ebay and again no one is stating what series of greenstuff pads they are carrying.
Paddocks in the UK carry the EBC 6000 series ones for a D1, front or rear: http://www.paddockspares.com/ search for EBC
Also, Ebay UK has heaps of 6000 series pads.
It appears that the 2000 series may not be made anymore, or are harder to get.
Try asking Paddocks for 2000 series ones, they will let you know if they are available.
Or better yet, contact a local EBC supplier through this site: http://www.ebcbrakes.com.au/
...and here's a UK EBC link: http://www.ebcbrakes.com/index.html

The 2000 series are an excellent pad, and a hell of a lot better than the 6000 series. You can tell which series it is as the part numbers first number relates to the series. ie a 2000 series pad will have a part number that starts with a 2, and a 6000 series pad will start with a 6.
The 2000 series pads have gone out of production for the Disco, I've tried hard to get these also and ended up getting the last set in Aus quite a while ago and these were only for 1 end. There was a push by BrakePro to get them to recast the pad back in the UK with the 2000 series compound, but they wouldn't be in it, and BrakePro were prepared to bulk buy to get that pad. Wasn't to be.
This said, there is now a greater range of available pads, and EBC have continued to develop their range, especially as you get into the red and yellow stuff pads, these are no longer the domain of high temperature track pads anymore.
Here is the EBC scale:
(worst) Low -> Med -> Good -> V.Good -> Excellent (best)
Black Ultimax pads:
Dust n/a
Cold n/a
Hot n/a
Life n/a
Braking friction 0.46
Green 2000 series pads:
Dust med
Cold good
Hot good
Life med-good
Braking friction 0.55
Green 6000 series 4x4 pads:
Dust low
Cold med
Hot med
Life good
Braking friction 0.45
Green 7000 series 4x4 pads:
Dust low
Cold med
Hot med
Life excellent
Braking friction 0.45
Red 3000 series pads:
Dust low
Cold good
Hot excellent
Life good
Braking friction 0.50
Yellow 4000 series pads:
Dust high
Cold excellent
Hot excellent
Life excellent
Braking friction n/a
Yellow SUV pads:
Dust high
Cold v.good
Hot v.good
Life v.good
Braking friction 0.50
I cant see it in the 2010 catalogue which only lists the black and 6000 series pads (don't bother, go to Bendix) but I'm sure that the 2009 catalogue had yellow SUV pads to suit also. The Yellow SUV pads will probably be better than the 2000 series with the exception of more dust and probably also be more expensive. If you cant get the Yellow SUVs (and I doubt the 2000 series also) then I wouldn't bother with EBC at all as the blacks and 6000 series are crap. The closest I've found to the 2000's are Bendix and the Bendix are not far off the 2000 series, but thats in all areas. Lucas TRW etc despite the temp ratings are not as good and they are noisy.

Hi Together,
I know it's a old threat but wondering which pad's are you running now on your D2. Seems like the EBC 2000 Series Green Stuff are available again
BNR Breaks 9899 8881 Part number 61037 front and DB1130 back
Do they make quite a difference to the OEM parts?
I'm just trying to figure out which pads I should put on once my OEMs need replacement.
Thanks
Steve
