Be a different story if the Bike rider was actually trying, he was riding it like he owned it as opposed to canning the living **** out of it IMO.

The limits still apply though crump,,,

any track with hard braking and quick changes of direction the car will be faster in those sections,,

48,000 POUNDS for that bike,, sounds a lot,,,

I once got passed by 5 (count em 5) Lambo Contaches between Maleny and Mapelton while I was on a GPZ 1100B2,but not in the bends, they were nailing me in the straights, admittedly that was a 230kg 115HP bike but back in those days supercars had 300kmh top ends, bikes took another decade or more to catch up.Oh yeah, I was trying.:o

Arrhh,, the b2

last of the great Road bikes,,,

after that they all went 16's on the front:(

the 16" wheel wasnt too bad on the jap bikes at the time, I replaced the B2 with an FZ750, but Guzzi stuffed up putting it on the Mk4 Le Mans, (it hurt to say that Pedro:(),;).

Yep, on the track, but in the real world I would have passed him on the straight, reeled in another ten or so of his mates, thumbed my nose and said to myself in my helmet "see you later chicane, thats why they call them mobile chicanes.":p:D

here's one for you Pedro, best handling thing I ever owned. Was a private import before the Mito,125cc, had it to 180kmh down Gateway and was absolutely lethal on Mt Glorious, unfortunately hopeless everywhere else.Wish I still had it.:((not my pic, but mine was the same.)

when Forcycle was bringing them in in the 80's they were under 5 grand without a chair, price has gone up a fair whack since then:eek: and not too much has changed.I like them, but like the Enfields, touring at 90kmh is not my thing, although with the new zero tolerance to speeding in QLD I may have to rethink that.:(

It (the chair) would allow me and the missus and the dog to go out,,,

and my go fast thing now is taken care of with this,,,

It seems it is true - though it surprised me. The fastest lap times at Phillip Island are cars (formula 4000).

A 250cc Superkart is faster than most 500cc bikes as well!!! Even though they only have brakes on 2 wheels AFAIK?

You obviously have never riden a Laverda 750 S2/3:mad:

The Ducati S2 is up there too, worst thing about the S2 was the reliability though:(

Of all the bikes I've owned, the BMW K100RS is my favourite:D

I rode a K100LS (genuine pannier kit, etc etc) on our way back from WA,,

had to get on, start it, knock it into first, rock it off the centre stand and take off,,

it was a tad tall in the saddle for me--

nice bike though:cool:

the TW magazine test when it was released quotes"Trying to start a fallen 600 halfway up a rocky hillclimb is beyond the imagination of the inexperienced. Not only does it sap the riders strength, it exhausts an entire vocabulary of expletives":D

apparently the manual decompressor off the XT550 fixes that problem. (I hope)

discs on both front wheels with a multiple piston single disc on rear axle. Fully adjustable F/R bias as well. IIRC when Adelaide had the F1 GP all those years ago. The F1 was (obvoiusly) quickest, then the 250 superkarts, then the V8 Supercar

I am still trying to get over selling my Suzuki GSX1300R Hayabusa - God I loved that thing. Had modded it a fair bit - so much power & so much speed!

300kph? pffft! At that speed my bike use to just keep on pulling & adding up the speed. But then - that was part of the reason I sold it :/ damn cops :( (Or should I say fines & speed laws)

Pitty tho - I never got to drag a decent super car. Had one bloke in a R8 give it a shot - waved good bye while still in second gear while he was pushing in to 4th lol Just opened up the taps & off I went.

Anyway - the main problem with Car VS Bike racing is - bikes are fast - IMO faster then car's - but its all down to how good the rider is & is he used to going fast? Does he trust the bike, the tyres & the front to hold coming in hot to corner? Does he have the balls?

Car's on the other hand can spin out & what not - but over all you are safer pushing the limits the a bike rider - falling off hurts - no matter what, my bones will agree with that as well lol

Anyway - the Busa is also awesome & great for long rides - very comfy - can ride from Melbourne to Sydney (Not sure you would want to tho :p ) & still feel ready to go for a twisty ride when you get there.

Just on the car v's Bike thing, its an incorrect assumption that you are going fast when the on the back wheel... in fact, and from experience, you actually slow down (so as not to flip!). So the guy was really hooning (having fun ) rather than racing. I suppose it would be OK if the Nissan was drifting around corners, same principle.

I dunno stooge,,

when the MotoGP guys pull wheelies out of corners----
