Those who have seen the newish BMW X6 on the road will know what i mean, it would have to be the fugliest most pointless vehicle i have ever seen even compared to some of ssssssssangyoong offerings.Virtually no rear window to speak of and boot space ? what space, you wouldnt even get a schnitzel in a paper bag in the back - and i thought the current toyota lineup was bad, what were they thinking.

I like the way it looks, but I don't understand the point of it.
No space, no offroad capability, poor onroad handling compared to a road car...

I have driven one, and they are a blast!!
Wouldn't part with cash for one myself, but a lot of fun to boot about in. I still prefer my old M3.

Top Gear last week-end (in the UK) had nothing nice to say about it either. Pointless! Compromised on-road by its height and compromised off-road by everything else.
Here is the link to Jeremy Clarkson's "budget" Top Gear review...

I would say that it is perfectly designed to travel to the snow, look like a poser and travel home again to the eastern suburbs. When asked why you need a 4wd you can say that you need it for the alpine conditions....:p
And it looks so much more stylish than those ugly four wheel drives you see at the school gates.
/sarcasm off

I read (heard?) a review that said the X6 is the answer to a question nobody asked...

Did you see the YouTube clip from Top Gear posted above? Wasn't even good in the 2" deep snow.

Sorry, it's butt ugly. A Defender is far more attractive. I'll take a Defender or D4.

Top Gear Season 14, Episode 7 (Youtube clip above). Clarkson really bags it.
I must admit, to me it looks big and ugly. Never mind how it handles. Looks like one of those Ssanyong Musso things.

I recall seeing this on fifth gear - the reviewer said a good reason to drive an X6 is "so you dont have to look at the outside". :lol2:

Well if someone rocked up to the All Wheel Drive Club of Victoria with one of these pretend all wheel drives we certainly wouldn't allow it on any tracks above easy standard for fear of having to recover it all day long at the merest hint of rough stuff.
The X6 is a disgarce to the all whel drive fraternity - rant finished!

I was in Dubai a little while back, an amazing place like a mirage rising from the sand. All built off money and the sweat of the poor man, mind. But the cars were AMAZING! Parked on the street corner you'd see a ferrari f40, a Prosche GT3, lambos, Bentleys, amazing.:o
Then I saw the X6 and it was such a shock I literally felt unwell. I thought I had heatstroke and was delusional so I went into a cool mall to settle down. It was gone went I went outside so I put it down to to the sun, until I saw another in Perth. I nearly crashed. I hadnt been dreaming and it was all, horribly real.
I have been trying to come to terms with them, seeing them as the modern equivalent of a muscle car, but SUV shaped to cater for the current style. It may be true, but I suggest the BMW designers beware the wrath of the Gods of good taste.
