Does anyone know if there is a fuse for the electric seats in a 96 disco? They have stopped working and there does not appear to be anything in the book about a fuse for this. Has anyone had this problem and come up with a solution.

There are 4 fuses & 2 relays under the passenger seat,
fun to get to.

Now I know where the fuses and relays are but unfortunately (or fortunately) they seem fine. Tricky yes to get at but doable. Not sure if I know how to check the relays other than to see if they look burnt etc. I wonder if roverV8 has any other suggestions about why they are dead! I may well have to go to an auto electrician (most say not too keen on Discos) but thought it would be good to fix myself if I can. Any other suggestions much appreciated. Cheers

When you say, they stopped working,
Do you mean they did work & suddenly stopped or they never really did work.

Is there any seat movement at all , from the switches?
If there is, the relays are ok and it's possible to be the switches themselves

The 2 relays under the seat are yellow,
The vehicle has plenty of other yellow relays on the car

If it were me, I'd try a known working relay and see if the one of the seats will work,
If so, put the working relay back and go buy a couple of matching relays.

Good luck

Yes they were fully working perfectly for years, then they just stopped altogether, no movement anywhere. I will try the relay swap, good idea, a process of elimination... thanks again

I have no personal experience with the electric seats, but I found this link to another inferior forum a while ago in regards to fixing the switches:
How to repair Discovery electric seat switches - LR4x4 - The Land Rover Forum (http://forums.lr4x4.com/index.php'showtopic=47674&view=&hl=&fromsearch=1)

Apparantly you need to join up and log in to see the photos.

If your problem is not a fuse or relay, maybe this might be a direction to explore. :)

This was the AULRO thread it came from: http://www.aulro.com/afvb/technical-chatter/93734-96-disco-elec-seats.html
