My other post about retrofitting a reversing camera is no longer needed.

I just ordered a new D4 SE in Rimini Red with navigation camera and 20" wheels. Pickup is next week sometime.

If you're planning on going offroad, may I suggest the 19" rims instead of the 20s.

We wanted the 19's but it was an issue changing them. We wont be doing hard core off road. The odd bush track and beach maybe.

Its a 3.0l

Congrats. You'll have to bring it out on a day trip.

We will giving it a run to the Sunshine coast via the Brisbane valley highway next weekend. Its a great drive, we just did it in our new Mini Cooper Diesel.

Ditched the Territory it seems?

If Ford had got their act together and had a Diesel Territory I would have most likely brought one. It would have saved me lots of money.

I looked at few contenders.

The Jeep Grand Cheeroke. awful seating position and too truck like to drive and getting a bit old now.

The VW Toureg wife didn't like it too small she said and she didn't like the look of it. She also thought the Q7 was ugly. The Q7 was my top pick. I don't like any of the 4x4's from Japan and I wont buy a Korean car.

So that left the Discovery 4 or a Range Rover.

Having come from a Territory and knowing they had issues and crap dealer service I thought well why not give the D4 a go. I lurked on this forum for a while and read about issues so hopefully there isn't to much drama with the D4.

They had a demo in Rimini which I drove. And while we were out another just came into stock. So we brought it.

It wasn't looking good to start with. I was getting sick of seeing black cars and black leather.

My taste in colours is a little different I waited 4 months on a factory order to get a Mini with a red leather interior. It is not as bad as it sounds. Link below.

I like the Mini, its "Different" & thats what is good & a good option as you can build what the potential customer wants & has to live with.
Dont like red colored vehicles in general(noy my cuppa)but the Rimini does make a difference from continually looking at Black, Black, Black, Silver, Black, Black, Silver, Silver.....
All the best, You wont be dissapointed...;)

The price comes down to options fitted and what kind of deal you can do.

My cars list price was $102k

Thats an SE with...

Metallic Paint
Rear Air
Sat Nav
Hi ICE (still don't really know what that is? Anyone?)
20" Wheels
Rear Camera (this was a must have can't believe its not standard)

That car ended up at $96k.

HI ICE = Flash Wireless

(A thumbs down appeared after I posted this and I have absolutely no idea why)

Many thanks! I really only want the Rear Camera and the diff lock, so that would be right within range of what I want to get.

Sat Nav is tied to the Rear Camera option.

This to me is just pure BS and a way to get extra dollars from customers.

I have glossy brochure and it says a lot and nothing at the same time.

I guess by Wireless you mean audio system. When I was buying I was more interested in capability than options.

So what is the difference between Hi ICE and the standard SE Audio system?

BTW...

I pick my D4 up today.

ICE simply stands for "In Car Entertainment".

I don't know the differences with the D4, but in the D3 the standard ICE was basic single CD + radio; and the Hi ICE was 6 CD, more speakers, aux input etc. The came the Premium ICE with even more speakers and a Harmon Kardon amp.
