Hiya all,
My sister-in-law just sent me this video clip its a beauty.
Because they had snow and the warm current coming up from cornwall melted it and then it subsequently refroze, you get amazing videos such as this.
Think it should be entitled how to de-bus a moving vehicle....I must say i am impressed on how much pace the vehicle picks up towards the end, but am very disappointed as to not see what becomes of the vehicle.
I wouldn't be suprised if the British army use this as a training video for the ski regiment based in Norway lol

Getting out of a car that is sliding like that seems a stupid thing to do!
They could have been "run over" by their own car.

yeah and it kinda looks like a close run thing, in my varied experience of mental driving in snow and black ice as is the instance here, you can try reversing like all buggery or change direction by going forward on a different lock, chances of achieving anything much in the extreme black ice as on this video, kinda looks a foregone conclusion, other than that sit tight you have a protective shell round you-you should be right

Black ice:eek: the feeling of inevitability as you slowly slide out of control. Those guys bailed as the car picked up speed:eek:. They even ignored the most basic of warnings...they could barely stand, let alone walk, on the stuff getting to their car.

And to think I used to hang out every year to take coaches up the snow:eek:
We are so lucky there are few days(nights) were these conditions exist on our roads.

In the Dandenong ranges in winter we can get sections of black ice, mostly in the corners were there is plenty of shade.Dad had a bloke slide into the side of his truck which was parked on the side of the road.Did some damage to the car and scratched some paint on the truck. Not a good feeling not having control over were you are heading.I came a round a bend and hit water from a burst water main that was up a side street. Aqua planed for a distance, rotating a couple of times.

Reminds me of the time I did my apprenticeship in Austria.
Used to ride to work on a Moped in the winter and was forever coming off the thing in a corner ... lol
Didn't hurt myself as I was going slowly anyway.
