iam pretty sure the reason that you are having a hard time finding one is because since the s3 they didnt come out until the td5 in australia so they can only be imported

Hi Bruce, and welcome to the forum, why don't you introduce yourself and tell us a little about yourself?
I know of no Def90's in Australia in that year range. The few that some people do have here are all later than that, if not all td5's.
Is there any specific reason you are so set on that year range/engine?

PS. This thread probably belongs in the Marketplace alerts, and will probably get moved. Have you placed a wanted ad in the Markets section also?

Ahh apologies. I did think of you after I posted, but even then I thought for some reason yours was later than that... was thinking 97/98.
And you immigrated with yours, so you don't count? :p

I have looked at this before as others have expressed an interest in the 90. Think the reason you do not see them is due to cost of what is a 20 year old vehicle landed in Australia.
Based on my costings taking an MOT failure Land Rover 90 diesel of 1987 vintage then putting in a new galvanised chassis and repair and replace as required so you have a good used standard rather than new with a couple of extras like airconditioning fitted would set you back in the region of 20k to 25k Australian at your front door.
While I can supply this if anyone is interested am not at all convinced that it makes any economic sense when compared to an Australian release Land Rover 90.

There were a reasonable number imported by company on the east coast, however they were mainly 85-90 models, and mainly/all V8s. The guy told me he couldn't bring in tdis due to parralel import rules at the time.
These 90s come up for sale occasionally, but you would need to be patient.
