Hi all
I'm about too add a second battery and invertor. I plan on running a fridge on 12V plus various items on the invertor. I've found answers to most of my questions, just wanted to clarify the points below:
A deep cycle battery is used for this purpose, Will that type of battery still allow me too start the buggy in the rare event that the Main battery dies?
Should I run a fridge on 12V or the 240V Invertor power? Is there any difference in battery life?
I'm looking at a 600W invertor (on Ebay). Is that overkill? I plan to use the 240V for laptop usage, and other assorted camping devices. I also plan to run another light in the Tailgate which will be drawing from the second battery . Are there any problems associated with these devices, eg overheating in a small area. I plan on putting both the Battery and the Invertor in the Spare wheel well.
Earth issues- My aim is too use the Chassis rail as an Earth lead. Will this be sufficient or do I need too route a cable back to the Engine Earth strap also?
Dual Battery unit - I'm looking at the Pirhana unit or the SC40. Does anyone have a preference? The reason for the pirhana was ease of install.
Lastly can anyone recommend a suitable brand fuseblock?
Thanks in advance for answers/suggestions
