i'm in the need of a codriver/passinger for a trip (home) to south aus
as my family are worrying as it'll be my first big trip since i broke my back.
im heading across in early march unsure exactly what date yet but i have to be in love day before the 7th for the 4x4 muster to cach up with a few mates
the return date im unsure of yet (is their any good landy sites over their)but itll be a maximum of a fortnight
so if anybody wants a trip across the nullabour your welcome to tag along.
ps i wont be useing a servo for fuel all the way their or back

no more than dobble that 1000l plus the main tank full
at 50c a lt its worth me carting my own fuel

yep in the landy im working on my worst ever tank and plan around 7000km plus (i like to be on the safe side)
and no not fish and chip its transformer cooling fluid itll run without a heater
any body up for a trip then??

Up to 1000L/1000kg can be carried without a dangerous goods qualification. Diesel is not classed as dangerous goods, but the cooling oil may be.:confused:

It isn't fuel, it is oil, and I am sure there are no restrictions on transport...

Fair enough if its legal. Doesn't seem that sensible to me though.

What is the flashpoint, and what does the MDS say about it? Some of the transformer oils are positively evil.

The PCB containing oils are the hazardous ones - hopefully hbwc isn't using them for fuel :eek:

perfectly legal as long as its in aproved contaners
plus the cost of fuel versus carting my own far out way the extra fuel to cart it

the bloke i buy the oil from isn't alowed to sell the bad stuff and if it was i wouldn't use it!
so who ever travels with you will need a bloody good blader ;)
i have to go to tolet to anyway its a habit to stop every 2 to3 hours anyway and walk around the vehical to check it and strech the legs

I thought the PCB based oils were banned years ago,environmental nightmare.

i also have room as the traler can take 2 ton
and still looking for a pasinger or codriver
