Has the suggestion been put up of running Mini Aulro club's around Aus??? Like all these other clubs around Aus cant we make our own where all the forum members can regulary meet and put in suggestions for meet's and trips. I do relize that it would go through the main man himself (Dave) but it was just a thought andbe good to raise some funds for the site. Pretty much someone from each state would be pointed as a head member and a thread could be specified directly for the mini clubs on here.
Anyways i think i do too much thinking lol but if you have any suggestions please feel free to add..
cheers simon

Thanks mate. I know it won't be easy to setup cause u would need alot of support but u have to start some where I guess. Be good also as every member in the each state can meet up say once a month and talk about either things on the forum or trips and meets and could also hold fund rasiers for either the specific state club or the forum it's self. See how we go....
Cheers Simon

Be careful where you go with it, it can get into public liabity issues etc, been an office bearer with a few clubs now and wont go there again, worse one was left to wind up an incorparate fishing club. IMHO you are just better getting together on a weekend and going for a drive.
cheers

in qld you cant go to a lot of places with out a special permit if you go as a club.
if you go as friends or acquaintances there is no such requirement... ;)

Ok did not know about the club rules about the outings. So if I was to setup up a vic aulro club how does one go about doing that? That's if there isn't one already.

Setting up an incorporated association - NSW Office of Fair Trading (http://www.fairtrading.nsw.gov.au/About_us/Publications/Cooperatives_and_associations/fte06settingupanincorporatedassociation.html)
It will be the same in Victoria as is in this link which was the first that came up on my search.
Incorporation is required to try an isolate the liability of the club from being a personal liability for the members/office bearers should any legal action be taken against the group. This way they can only take the money the club has an not that of the individuals, unless an individual has been negligent. Along with this comes a constitution by which you run your club, at least one general meeting per year and submission of an annual report including a financial statement and auditors report.
Join an existing club like the Land Rover Owners Club of Victoria (http://www.lrocv.com.au/store/default.pl) there are also non make specific clubs mostly out in country areas, there is little point in starting other clubs as it just thins out the membership pool. Enjoy your local club and enjoy your AULRO forum, nothing stopping people from contributing to both/either.
