After getting having a Nerve Devation performed on Wed I no longer have any chronic pain :arms:; For those that might have read I was having problems with cervical facet joint pain after my Discectomy and fusion for the past 12 months, and I may have been cranky!
2 test procedures of having Facet Blocks performed in theatre, and they hurt like hell when the hit the nerve but gave temp relief so they were deemed to be beneficial. I got the go ahead of the approval for the a nerve devation.
The devation involves feeding a probe into the facet joint and the he at it to 90Deg Cel with radio frequency, this then burns the nerve ends. With no nerve receptors I have no pain[happycry]
They only sedate you for this, got the anethetic into my foot, and felt the probe hitting the nerve, AULRO members as far as QLD would have heard me yell!. Today 2 days after I have a numb back of the nech, a numb left thigh and a numb tip of the nose. I can feel prodding but can't even feel myself scratch myself. A weird feeling I can tell you.
But the plus side is I should be pain freee for up to 18mths, so it is worth it.
Now what needs doing on the Disco???????????:D:D:D:D:D< I may be able to give work a ring too and say I'll be back soon!!!!!!!!:arms:

Ive had shots of cortisone into the facet joints and direct into the spinal colum several times.
Awsome stuff.
Helped me no end in my recovery from my back injury.
Hope your treatment works well.
