Leo, who was having lots of trouble witth his 15 year old Bi-polar daughter doing drugs and sex, picking her up at police station at 3:00AM when he had lost his licence and could not go by car, etc., decided that he would get a place a long way from anywhere so she could not go out and get herself into trouble.

JohnF
2nd July 2010, 02:59 PM
If you stepped on my toes I did not feel anything and do not know about it. If so they were either so caked in mud from my drive I could not feel you stepping on them--though they do also get a little bit cold this time of the year so I may not have felt you stepping on them due to that cold :D:D:D.
But am fairly certain that you hsave not stepped on my or any regulars toes.
It seems that on this forum that I am the one who steps on most toes, though I may be wrong--do not read a big percentage of threads, as do not have time for everything. Certainly I got reaction against what I said in the evolution thread before it was cancelled. But I always think that people should discuss things and be free to disagree. I had so much more that I wanted to throw out there on that subject, but that was not to be--when I have the date of the opening of a new interesting Museum, I will post it--and this museum backs up some of my claims.
So do not worry about Banjo stepping on toes-You step on hardly any if any at all. I say hardly any having those hate e-mails you once recieved in mind. But to most of the regulars on this thread you do not step on our toes.
Jason, hope to contact you down your way Monday Week, as planning to come down if weather is fine--by hitching or by train--not sure as yet. If it is wet will put trip off for a couple of weeks. Will drop in to meet you, after spending a few days in Sydney. Hope there is a bus that goes near you, from a railway station as I am going to be using public transport. Pensioners get cheap fairs on bus and train in NSW so will make use of my pension card, John.

No toes stepped on as far as I know.
Went to a work farewell party last night, got on a bus home and had to get off at Eight Mile Plains to change but the bus windows were fogged and I missed the stop and the bus turned off, so got out, sat in bus stop in rain, called wife, got another bus back to Eight Mile Plains and got picked up. So got home late and was a bit unpopular. All OK this morning.
I'm off to cook pancakes for a late breakfast.
Got a housefull of women planning to spend the day spinning and then they're off to see the new Twilight movie (groan). So I think I'll be ti- toing around them all day. Might watch the footy with the youngest son tonight.

Hi Banjo
Wondering if you can e-mail me your address, so I now how to get their from Cardiff station next Monday--probably not long after lunch time. Also sent me your Phone number, though you did post it before. Will be catching a train up from Hornsby, and it takes a couple of hours to get up to Newcastle.
Leaving either late Wednesday night or Thursday morning for Sydney and will be spending a couple of days there, and calling in to you on the way home--or alternatively will leave on Tuesday, in which case I head back down to Sydney Monday night.
Am almost packed for the Trip. Wednesday night this week I have a RFS Fire-brigade meeting at Casino, and plan on getting dropped at Casino railway Station after that meeting, to catch a train next morning to Sydney--if I can get a seat. Wife is phoning up to book for me.

before planning this trip, I should have found out where Fossil Polystrate trees in the Newcastle coal measures can be found, as I am going to photograpgh them for my collection--and their are these found in Newcastrle Coal Measures.
I will be travelling to near Yamba and Gympie later this year to photograph Polystrate trees in the Jurrassic Rocks, and will be travelling elsewhere to photograph these Fossilised Jurassic Polystrate trees.
Jurrasic rocks extend from near Yamba, out to Birdsville, up to near tip of Cape York, around 1/3 of Australia, and these are full of Polystrate Southern Conifers, in a big log Jam, with roots of all the trees missing.and dinosaur and Marine Fossils mixed in with the all the Trees.
So I want to start documenting and photographing this flood deposit [because it is a flood deposit 1/3 of Australia in extent, covered by sediment that had to come from an area greater than Australia, does not prove Noah's flood.]
And Banjo I do promise that I will not Hijack your thread by discussing this further in this thread. But wish I had found out where to photograph these in the Newcastle Coal Measures while down there.
Should add that The Jurrasic rocks are underground in parts of this area, so are not always accessable to the camera.

Shed boxing all ready for plastic, reo ect but still waiting on council. Plant my new orchard over last week, only 5 trees ATM, still waiting on an orange tree, spot already picked for that one. Put in 14 post for the new boundry fence.
Can Karen get the words out yet, I myself wwould never have either a tat or a piecing but I do admire some of the works. Old girlfriend had a stud in her tongue but I wont go there.

No farm Jason, just an i/2 acre block that we are subdeviding a very small section off for my BIL to put a small unit on. The main problem is that for the last 20 years I had been developing a native tree plot etc and all that had to be removed along with my 12 x 8 meter shed to get access. So I need to build a new shed in a different location and reextabished all the trees and new boundries.
Maybe its time to think about a move to a small county town somewhere. My kids all grew up in one, all but one has now spread their wings. Daughter in Perth finishing her honor degree this year at uni, eldest son in burnie running the city networkwork system and youngest still at home at 26 wrrking shift work at a packing factory after he got sick of baking. So they can all come and go but home always will be in a small country town

I have been here 39 years & have no idea what they are or where they are..
I did say I would not Hijack your thread by talking about Polystrate trees, but will have pictures from the net of them on my Laptop to show you breifly when I get there.
Briefly, a Polystrate tree is a fossil/petrified tree--Usually without its root system as it has been broken off and deposited vertically by a large flood. It is verticle running through many rock layers proving all these Rock Layers were all laid down in just one very big flood event, rather than being slowly covered over by sediments during a long period of time.
"Poly" is a word meaning "many"--polymer--many carbon atoms in the chain of atoms making the substance, etc.
"Strate" as in "Polystrate" after "Strata" or rock layers.
I do know where some Far North Coast Jurassic Polystrate tree fossils are, and when weather is warmer heading there for a swim and will photograph them at that time.
I also know where some are at Gympie, and will head up there soon to photograph them.
Some years ago, one evolutionist Geology Professor from Newcastle University published that there was no such thing as Polystrate Petrified trees, as these are a real big thorn in the side of evolution--that is Polystrate Petrified Trees do prove these many Rock layers did not take millions of years to form, but the many Rock Layers were all laid down in just one large flood event. That is why I would have liked to Photograph the ones in the rocks called "Newcastle Coal Measures."
But will get to photograph more local ones later this year.

http://www.icr.org/article/polystrate-trees-coal-seams-joggins-fossil-cliffs/
http://www.yecheadquarters.org/shame.34.html
However I had better leave this subject now. I just want to photograph these for my self and know two sites where these are to be found.

So how did you get on Aus is it all fixed... Nah,they had the wrong part, my FL1 is the updated model and the part they got in was for the earlier model, there was a change in June 2001 and my FL1 was built in July 2001. Of cause the part is dearer isn't it, always the way, an extra $80. They will have the part in this arvo and I will go down there again tomorrow morning to have it fitted.
They took my EMail address to be on their mailing list, apparently they are going to have information evenings, complete with a BBQ for Landie owners, should be interesting. I also learnt that the motor in my FL1 was completely rebuilt and updated a few months before I bought it, which is good news as I don't have to worry about changing timing belts for a long time yet. the previous owner spent $10,000 on the rebuild and the car is known down there. It was even booked in under the previous owners name and I had to correct them.:)

Had a talk to Ben down at ALL FOURX4 and he tells me they have lost two mechanics and the front counter person to the new Landrover mob at Bennets Green. He suspects they will lose some work on the new Landrovers to them, but apparently they are not interested in older Landies or complicated work, they only want to do routine serviceing on new Landies.:) So I guess that lets FL1 and S3 owners out doesn't it!!:) Anyrate All FOURX4 is closer!!

Hi Banjo & Karen,
Still coming up to see you tomorrow. Went to Ourimbah today and did not realise how long the train trip took. Will jump on a train to Hornsby as soon as posible after getting up, then catch the first Newcastle train from Hornsby. But it is a 3 hour train journey to Newcstlle, though I do know the station near you is a bit closer. Planed on doing several things in the afternoon but found the day had gone. Salvos have a bus with mobile Internet that I am using at the moment, first time I have been on the Internet while down in Sydney.

Kev, I think a day in Sydney is a bit ambitious, but if we can get Banjo to go on Stockton Beach for a couple of hours it would be a HUGE milestone, if he gets a panic attack he is only half an hour from home and can leave the beach straight away!!!:)

Spent all night on train, left Central at 4:12PM and got to Kyogle at around 4:4M. Saw a lady I know from the Fire Brigade on the train, and her husband was picking her up from Kyogle, so got a lift home, sometime after five AM. So am very tired and posting this in an effort to stay awake.
No one who has seen the movie, "Texas Chainsaw Massacre" knew that I was carrying the chainsaw on the train.
Will be down again to Sydney--Central Coast later this year to photograph some Polystrate Trees.
Enjoyed meeting Karen and Jason, they were nice. Kids kept telling them that they are bored. I do not have enough hours in the day to get bored. Some much interesting stuff too keep the mind occupied.
