Speaking of Warbirds, Ian.:D Yesterday I watched the original documentary of the "Memphis Belle" which you may know is an American B17 bomber which was the first bomber to complete 25 missions over Germany with the crew intact. The documentary was made in 1944 and the cameraaman flew withe the crew on its last mission.:D It was very interesting I also have the 1990 movie "The Memphis Belle" in which Hollywood tells the same story with actors.:D

I got to thinking........yeah alright keep your jokes to yourself...........in the war memorial in Canberra is a Lancaster bomber called "G for George" and I was sure it had done more missions than that. I checked it out and it had done 90 that;s not a misprint90missions over Germany and Europe during the war.:o

Only difference was, it was not all done with the same crew as what the "Memphis Belle" had done it's 25 missions with. But just the same for one Bomber to survive 90 missions over a warzone without being shot down is one hell of an effort.:D:D

BBC - CBeebies - Haa Hoos (http://www.bbc.co.uk/cbeebies/in-the-night-garden/makes/in-the-night-garden-haahoo/)

In the Night Garden - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The Haahoos are five very large inflatable pillow-like creatures of various shapes and colours with eyes and smiling mouths. They move slowly around the garden making deep springy sounds ("boing, boing"). The Haahoos appear behind the gazebo during general dance sequences, and are also seen going to sleep, closing their eyes and deflating slightly. They come in the shape of a flower, an X, a star, a circle and a figure of 8. They were first featured in the episode "The Tombliboos' Waving Game".

Most of the time I dont even ask. I am goign to ring up about a few utes tomorrow and if no good there I will go back to looking at cars and hopefully next week I will have a car.

While cleaning through over 100 years of history around the place a lot of stories get told, which has probably been the best thing about the move.
Years ago my great uncle and maybe my grandpa(they managed their property as one as they live side by side) use to hold land rover events on the property.
I was hoping to find out some more information online but cant find anything about the newcastle land rover club.
I have been thinking it would be nice to do something like this again one day

I met some members of the Newcastle Land Rover Club in Gundagai last year. They have about 100 members but only 3 or so actual Land Rovers. The rest own other 4x4 vehicles.

Their website is The Club | Newcastle Land Rover Club (http://www.newcastlelandroverclub.org.au/the-club)

I am sure I heard one of them say they still have some of the original members - and they would be the people who will have the answers to the questions you have.

I had Hungry Jacks today; no mould. :o;)

I'm not supposed to eat them anymore :( .........but I still sneak in now and again when nobody is looking

Well this is embarrassing :ohyes:

Wife has been going on and on about this new fridge/freezer and how great :oops2:it is, 900 litres blah, blah. So I finally give in and we buy it, delivery van turns up and hey presto we cannot get it upstairs to the kitchen as it's too big [bighmmm]
Delivery guys want none of it and drive off leaving fridge outside on the verandah . I ring a friend who has a large tractor with a bucket on the front who drives round within the hour, the plan is to lift the fridge up and over the balcony into the kitchen via the dining area french doors

After a bit of careful measuring it's decided that we are 400mm short in height, so we lay rows of block pavers down to build up to the correct height. We then had two or three practice runs before tying the fridge onto the bucket and lifting it up to the balcony. By now two more friends have arrived to help as we cannot lift the fridge out of the bucket, but with lots of heaving, bits of wood and rope we finally got it onto the balcony without dropping it 3.4 metres to the ground below. :MileStone:

Now it's in the house and we take it out of the box, there is a big note stuck to the side of the fridge.......Installers / Delivery......If this fridge will not fit through doorways or stairwells remove doors as per instructions :D

We need it in Queensland Jim; ut on the other side of the range. When we get a lot of rain in a short time most of it is wasted running out to sea efore it can e soak in. :(

Well I thought I got my rego papers in the mail the other day , But no it was a SPEEDING FINE in my name for $106 & 1 demerit point . Not bad concidering I don't really go out & it was at Gateshead a place I wouldn't get to at all.. Was pinned for 70ks in a 60k zone..:eek2::BigCry::censored:

It was Karen in the disco , cause it registered in my name I get the fine & to point lose.

I do know the speedo is out cause of the larger tyres , I think standard tyres are about 29 inches I have 33 inch tyres .. Its not worth fighting it as it would cost more to do that.

So I went online on Friday night & found a polaris HUD (heads up display). I always hear John Laws spruking about them so looked at those .. I then Went & ORDERED one..:D. Hopefully I should get it this week maybe.. One can hope.

There should be a stat dec section to say someone else was driving and they then send the fine to them.

But if you don't drive much, maybe it's better that you keep it and let Karen not get the points.

Pretty good thanks Jase.

Not on here so much anymore - busy working, fixing up things around the house since we got married and bought a house.
But despite it being a really nice older double brick house, the previous owners didn't do much so I'm just pottering away fixing up little things as a go along. So that takes up time.

Me and the wife have got back into doing Latin dance classes a few times a week and I'm going to start playing tennis again, so even less time on the forum, not that it worries me too much cos there's a lot of crap on here nowadays! Keep an eye on this thread a few others but not much more other than a general skim!

Wow, I thought ours was bad enough! We've got the next size down, at 659litres, which is marginally taller and wider, just not as deep. And it only weighs 135kg against the 180kg for yours. And yes, a major pain in the rear to move around, it took 4 of us to get it up the back steps through the big sliding doors at the backof the house.

Ive done a little to Harry I separated the bonnet frame out of the bonnet & have it painted , I need to prime the under side of the bonnet before it goes back on..

Ive also ordered a heap of mig wire including some aluminium wire so I can weld up the front gaurds where there split. Still thinking of getting a tig But while I make up my mind on which one i'll just use the mig..

Ok so Karen went back to get the results of the liver biopsy today. And still no answers . It did show that she has a serverely inflamed liver. But he said he's still in the dark as to what it is or why it is.. Her body is treating the liver as a foreign object trying to get rid of it.. Known as autoimmune BUT why he's not sure or how.. He has put her on a course of STERIODS for a fortnight & has to have a blood test around the fortnight to see if its reducing the inflammatory if so he will put her on some anti inflammatory medication.
Karen is worried about the STERIODS as she will put weight on with them & will sweat more , Not happy cause she is going threw menopause & already sweats like crazy she says. I just tell her ah well ya mite grow some hair on ya chin or your chest.. Or give her bigger man muscles then they are now.. We pay her off cause she likes to workout & we call her man muscles :D..Either that or she will grow a pair :o.

So still nothing really more drugs & more tests. Don't know what other tests she will have to have yet . He wanted Karen to come back in a fortnight so would be at end of course of steroids & had the blood test , But typical specialist we cant get back in for a month..So even more waiting..

That's about where we are..

Na the real estate hasn't said anything to us. They won't we find out when we hear them knocking in the posts for the sign. They've done it twice to us & because we live week to week we have to wait for them to find us a house , usually over priced & very untidy. The last house we where in for 13 years but when we moved in we couldn't find the wheely bin. It was out the back in the grass we found it when we cleaned the yard up. & if we have to wait for the agents this time we will be well & truly up the creek as all there rentals are well over what we pay a week.

Karen & I have always put the kids first. Medical , schooling or sporting , in everything. So when I sold the green car we brought some NEW stuff for us. A bed & mattress . Chest freezer. Chest of drawers a TV stand as we where using a blanket box. In the 27 years we have been together it's the first time we have ever brought anything new for us & I can tell you the money doesn't go far at all.so now not knowing what will happen with the house we are worried & think we shouldn't of brought anything for us as it's pretty much all gone.

I am worried about Karens health & she gets quiet mad about it as she eats right exercises doesn't smoke or drink. Me on the other hand smoke drink eat what I want when I want, Karen will tell you I live on Tim tams , kit kats & I don't exercise unless walking to the car & letter box counts.

We have now had 2 chances to buy a house once when my grand father died I could of brought there housing commission house & at the time they where taking off a lot of what you paid in rent. But my father wouldn't let me. & once again last year when my parents where going to help us but then changed there mind..

We do not in any way want or expect a free ride we where happy to pay them back in rent till it was ours including interest. But I'm not my sisters who they are helping yet again.

This is why we don't trust people . When I told my mother the house mite be going on the market all she could say was lucky you sold your car then or have use spent it already. See where not allowed to have anything new or nice.

Karens family are the same. Her sister works in aged care so her parents think she is a doctor & Karens sister told her parents that there's nothing wrong with me he is just stopping Karen from seeing us. Karens father turned about & told Karen to her face that he hates me because it's my fault she doesn't see them..

No I didn't & don't its Karen who doesn't want anything to do with them because Karens sister tells them what she wants them to think & takes everything she can from the parents & gets what she wants.

banjo
4th February 2014, 06:42 PM
The houses we have looked at buying are old. That's what we like & we want to be able to do it up slowly. There in the $25000 to $40000 & we have both said we want be happy to pay extremely hing interest if we had to because it would be ours & could have it paid for within 5 years.

The plan I am on is $40 a month plus $3 phone charge plus $9.95 phone insurance-being at uni I think I need that one.
I have 1.5gb of data and $450 credit each month which should last me ok as I will be using wifi most of the time.
I could have got the iphone5c(i Think) on the same plan but I think it was a $13 phone charge a month.
It is my first smart phone so I dont know any different, so I will see how I will go. The camera isnt as good as I was hoping for though, but taking the plastic off that it comes with does help the clarity :p

Karens steroids that she is on are making things real hard for her. She has a swollen belly , is retaining fluid is always hungry. Sweating a lot more. Is peeing a lot & on the bog a lot. There just giving her hell all round. Has to take them for a fortnight then have another blood test to see if they has stopped the inflammation in anyway. If so she be on them for life if not then they just keep trying stuff. Her body is still trying to get rid of her liver it's treating it as a froeign body. It's just never ending at the moment for us. :-(

The pain kept we awake nearly all night. & to top it off on my right wrist I have a huge gangleon lump & it's been quiet painfull lately shooting pains going up into my hand. I think it's going to have to be cut out. & then there's my really bad teeth. Was never allowed to go dentist wen living with my father so it was just put a clove on it you'll be fine. Now I had a tooth removed not long after Fred was born & the dentist made such a mess of it I'm so petrified of dentists & the only way I will get them done is if I get knocked out & they pull them all & give me falsies but we can't afford that so just put up with them. The dentist fractured my jaw & we couldn't stop the bleeding or the pain so when Karen rang him back he said just rinse with bleach. Never again I can tell ya.

Now feel even crooked from squeezing it so hard. & I'm so tired , hopefully I'll get some sleep threw the day. Karens not well either. Great company for each other.

Na still the same. Only had 3 tablets. Karen took some pics to show use but I on the iPod. When I had the panic attack it was that bad that I ended up ringing wet from sweat & left a huge pool of sweat on the floor. Still coming down from that.. I am really worried about what he said about the intravenous drip antibiotics cause I guess that would mean hospital. I have to take another tablet at 8pm. It be my last for the day. Have to take 4 a day. There starting to make me feel horrible. Since I panicked at doctors it will be very very hard to go back there. Though I did get threw it , it was extremely hard for me & I wanted to leave. He took my temperature wen I first went into his room & it was normal. Surprising since I had only finished the attack minutes before. But we are about to have a drink. I guess it. Take awhile to kick in. I said to the doc will these take a bit to kick in. He said an should be about 24hours. It's scarring the **** outa me though.

It's very hard to explain what I feel when I have a panic attack. What most people do as everyday life like doctors & hospitals & working is for me like being made to cut off my Own Arm or leg. I get so embarrassed when I have a panic attack because most people just think I'm crazy. & to me they are extremely scarry I have trouble breathing & can't cool myself down & have had to strip to my undies just to cool me down. My vision gets blurry I sweat like you have never seen my whole body goes a funny numb & tingly & I shake & stutter with slurred speach & can mostly only grunt. Poor Karen got all the grunts today.

Yeah I have 5 days of the tablets I will take them all. Didn't have a drink yesterday but since the tablets aren't effecting me in any way I mite have one today. My finger is still swollen but the redness lines on my are have gone .so there working.

No we don't have a dentist school here.

I'm still more worried about Karen then myself. But I will take my tablets.

I drove Karen down the road this morning & even that aggravated my hand finger. It's surprising how much you use you fingers when you can't use them.
But it's not as red today all around my finger & knuckle & the red lines are gone. So since I can't do anything I go a movie to watch. **** me off though I wanted to get some work done this weekend on the disco it needs some welding for rego. Plus Karen has tomorrow off so we could of gone away for the night at least.

There was an old lady that lived a couple of doors down from us and she would have a doctor at her place fairly regularly. think they were called "After Hours Doctors" or something like that. Might be worth checking out, could save you the stress of having to visit a doctor's surgery!!!:)

Keep taking the current ones and let them fully treat the problem.

Then, if I were you, I would get the repeat filled and put them away in a drawer so, if it comes back again, no faffing around with the doctor (if the repeat has expired) and straight back on the medication.

We have a discount chemist here. I took a script to him once and he said he couldn't fill it because the script had expired. He then pointed out that they sell that exact drug over the counter so no script required. I haven't found anyone else who sells it over the counter so I just go back to them every month or so and get some more. Beats paying the Dr $75 for 5 minutes, too.

Try cleaning the idle stepper it's on top of the intake at the back near the firewall pointing to the driver's side. A big plastic hex/nut/bolt looking thingy with two wires on it. Carefully unscrew it and clean the pointy bit inside. Replace gently it only needs nipping up.

No better still very very sore. Can't walk much or stand for long. Can't shower properly on her own & still wobbly on her feet neck is quiet sore & now I think the accident have made the liver thing worse as she said its really sore now. She went out with Fred this morning to pickup some of her pay & hand the plates off the subarooted in. But had to come home as hurt to much & was tired. The steroids she has to take didn't let all the pain relief that they gave her at hospital work & this steroid makes it hard to sleep even though she takes them of a morning as was told because of this but most people have this problem with them when taking them. I didn't get anything done to disco as I was with Karen all day making sure she ok. It's had the intermitten miss since we got it & we brought new leads & plugs. Read on the forum here about how they need the correct Bosch rotor button as after market ones cause this. I had the dizzy cap off today for a quick look & the contacts are quiet dirty so is the rotor contact so I will use some very fine emery paper to clean them for now & I'll put the new leads & plugs in this weekend as it's now our only car. Fred is staying at her boyfriends most weekends now which is great as she is moving forward with her life. & she works most week days so we can't use her car & won't now that she is doing so well considering she has anxieties like me. But we woke up alive for another day so all is good I guess.

I got to test drive your "Green Machine" on sunday :) I wanted to test the power steering set up and to see how your parabolics performed. I was impressed by the steering. When you coming to do mine ?? ;)

I seen the pics of it. What's with the white door tops. The passenger side door top is full aluminium. The power steering is a great addition makes a big difference & we thought the parabolics where real good from Rocky Mountain.

Going to try & fit the leather front seats out of the Subaru into the disco. The racing seats I put in it are comfortable but the are a real pain in the ass to get in & out of because of the high side padding.

Jerry that power steering conversion is easy to do. I have some crush tubes & plates here. You only need the box a steering column make a drag link out of 4140 with Landry thread one end & a Toyota on the other. The steering shaft needs to be xrayed where you weld the Landry knuckle onto the Toyota shaft. Or you could use a Toyota steering column so you don't need the X-ray.

Well it never rains it poors. Both other parties have made a claim. Disco is due for rego on the 24th of this month. Fred's car is due for rego just after we helping her as her shifts have been cut lots. Plus the fine. Need to get some work done to disco it needs new rear exhaust welded on as it was broken off under the car it's stainless so I can't weld it& I don't have any exhaust anyway. All up the bills come to just over $2000 to be paid in the next 2 weeks. Karen is getting better but it's very slow. She hates it.

Nah, wasn't me, I haven't driven a bus out that way for a few weeks now. Anyrate, after the end of March the routes 269 (Toronto to Charlestown via Warners Bay) and 271 (Toronto to Glendale) will be operated from the Toronto Depot. We will be losing five buses and at least 6 or 7 drivers to go to Toronto. Not me though, I won't be going, even if they ask me too, it's too convenient here for me to just walk to work here at the Edgeworth Depot. If I went to Toronto, I would have to buy another car, which I will not do.:)

Yeah, Jase, I got a chuckle out of my new signature when I first saw it in an article about the original Toronto to Fassifern tram. Makes you wonder how people can pick flowers when the tram is in motion. Must be a VERY slow moving tram or the flowers grew large and close to the tramway, so people might have reached out and grabbed a handful.:D:D

back at the Even's Head fly in in January there were 14 warbirds. Should put next year on your calander.

Jim & mrs HH just the thought of 4-430am makes me feel sick.
Sleeping in has probably been my highlight this summer.

I once had a Jehovah's Witness man ring me at 4.30 on a great number of mornings to tell me his wife had left him because he drank.

I had put out a paper on health and that is how he got my name. 4.30 in the morning is not my best time, and I am not sure my advice helped.

I may be religious but I definately do not believe in 4.30 in the morning.

Karen was so worried this afternoon because they did the mandatory blood test & she said to me OMG there going to charge me with drugs in my system cause of the steroids they'll look at me like a druggie. I said while trying not to laugh to hard no dear they are prescription drugs so you'll be fine. She said are you sure.
:Rolling::Rolling: yes dear your fine don't worry about it.

If the steroids are from a doctors prescription you do not have to worry.

Fred's car was knocked back on the pink slip so was working on that today needed to change out the rubber boots on the passengers side drive shaft. Got it all out & the new rubbers on then it rained so I got soaked puting it back together , then I stuffed the ball joint when removing it as I only have a hammer to use so had to run to repo to get a new one only to have him give me the wrong part 3 times , they are so hopeless down there..still need to degrease engine so will do that tomorrow after she finishes work then she can take it back get it done then go RTA as it runs out tomorrow I think ..it got knocked back on the rubber boots dirty engine & rusty wipers so had to sand them & paint them..Karen is still not to good . We go back to the specialist on Tuesday & we both doubt thee be much change .

Yep rusty arms & I recon it's cause Fred took the car up. He didn't even really look at the disco. But I degreaser the engine today in the rain again.

Yeah not sure how the specialist is going to go , Karen said there is no way she is taking anymore of these steroid things. She's had enough of em. They keep her awake all night badly.

Well we had an interesting Friday night here. I have been sitting up with Karen as she can't sleep with these tablets she's on. Went to bed about midnight & I crashed straight away only to be woken up by loud explosions about 12.40. Gets up looks out the back as I hadn't disconnected the battery in Subaru nup nothing there. Looks out the front door & it's bright like a bright light on. So walks out & there's a big fire behind the houses on the other side of the road. Behind them is the industrial estate & ones on fire. I think it was the commodore shop one of there cars out the back. Karen said there was about 3 explosions before I got up the one that woke me shook the house a little. Fireries turned up so watched for a bit then went back to bed. Have to run down the road today so mite go around & have a sticky beak. Plus Karen wants to have a drive since she hasn't since the accident , she is a little worried about driving.
