How long does it take for the oil to stop coming through the harness

Hi all
just wondering if anyone knows roughly how long it takes all the residual oil to come through to the red ecu plug?
I reckon Ive cleaned the ecu plug 6 times and it still seems to come through very lightly and plays havock with the ecu.
I also have modified the injector harness to fix this problem!

Iv'e found as with everything that get's contaminated, it always wicks :(

after changing the engine harness it took about a year and oils gone for good now

Hi Bronson
Remove the rubber seal on the red ecu plug,drains easier.Leave it out till the oils gone,remember to refit when off-roading or wet weather where there is a big chance of getting water in there(water crossings mainly)
Flush loom with metho spirits.Use a coke bottle as a funnel,pour it down the plug/cabling at the front of the head and the MAP sensor on the inlet manifold.Ensure no fumes are present before starting,I also poured a heap of water down mine after leaving it overnite.
A Defender(if you have one) could possibly take longer than a D2 to fix due to the further distance of the ECU from the oil source.
Mine was throwing faults for a few months after fixing it.

Hey mate,

I just did the usual fix, by replacing it with a new injector loom, heat shrinking and filling the injector plugs with high temp silastic, and also sealing up the head plug with silastic as well. I suppose its a waiting game, might try the metho trick soon, see how she goes.
