G'day

when i used to work for a 4x4 shop i installed quite a few of the hiclone units in different fourby's. Now i have heared mixed stories on these little numbers and was wondering if anyone here has fitted one into there petrol or diesel landys??

Have been considering it for a while now and there are a few on the market especialy on crap bay so which one to get???

Had one customer come back after someone (Before i was there) fitted one in a new hilux but put it back to front and he claimed that it was not doing anygood but worse so it made me think it might just work after all. On the lines of how it works i take it with the hiclone in it gives you a spirial air effect as to your normal air intake which in turn get alot more air flowing through at a rapid rate??

so if you got one what ya reckon???? did it help???

I have some Cheetah Saliva in limited quantities if you act now.

Rub it into the rocker cover and it will increase the performance by giving you the power of a Cheetah!!

My Father has one on his Nissan. Absolutely no measurable difference, ever.

Hahaha have you got it in 20l drums?????? i'll need that much of it to get my 300tdi going, just going to pour it all of the engine and see what happens!!! lol

nothing at all!!! how about in the fuel economy department as thats one of there claims as well.

Surly you've been here long enough to see the other uses they have. Most are now behind a dunny door these days;)

Why don't you try one of those puter fan superchargers as well:lol2:

They're all useless:mad::mad:

My Defender Tdi came with 2 of them installed (before and after the turbo). The previous owner swore by them as being very effective. When I took them out it made absolutely no difference to the vehicle's performance, economy etc.

my 200Tdi Disco has 2 fitted (From previos owner). He claims they made a difference. I get 10.5 - 10.9 LP 100km around town and find that the engine is quite pokey when the turbo starts spinning. I will endeavor to remove them in the near future to see if there is any difference. I figure I won't have the placebo effect becaue I wasn't brainwashed.

EDIT;

I just went to the website. It claims the fuel economy increase is because the swirling air moves the fuel to the middle of the air stream. Now correct me if im wrong, but my 200Tdi is direct injection.....

of course they work.... but theres no point in buying one as the best engined landrovers have one already.

the isuzu 3.9 has a huge one built into the air cleaner

the air box on the td5 engine has one built in prior to the air cleaner.

sorry , I just got so sick of typing out no they dont work and explaining why they dont.

They do work...you screw it to the end of a 300mm x 4mm steel rod, put the other end of the rod in the chuck of an electric drill and bingo: a stirrer for mixing a secret potion of goannah and snake oil topped up with FirePower (TM). diesels love it...;)

I can do you a Pogue carburettor that gives 200mpg but don't tell a soul as the oil companies bought the design to stop it being marketed. Add to this the little gadget that is plumbed into the vacuum advance line that halves fuel usage, and the tail pipe extractor and you will be saving so much fuel you will be able to sell the overflow from your tank.

This is the bit I love on a diesel :o

After the air is compressed to a poofteenth of its original volume (so no doubt it's still swirling around heaps :eek: ), the fuel is then injected :cool::cool:

Reverse it and place it in the end of the exhaust after all the mufflers so it remove any turbulance in the exhaust gases :D:D:D

joker go to the kids arts and crafts box and grab a dunny roll insert, cut it up so it resembles the same shape of a hiclone

now swallow it

can you breathe easier? can you eat anything? if your answer is no then ask yourself will a hiclone work

Martyn, you should know better. It won't work like that. You have to have the specially designed exhaust tip:

The Turbo Exhaust Tube™ (http://www.spiralmax.com/tet.htm)

with all this suction and blowing we might of just produced the words first "free energy" motor

Note: "Free energy" and "free engergy motor" are coppyrights of Sparks disco Inc

its actually designed to atomise the air/fuel charge better, better atomisation means more complete burn which means more power/economy from the same charge of fuel.
i know of an real old device called a whirlwind based on the same priciple but added extra air:eek:

If you are dissatisfied with the performance and economy gains of your hi-clone, check that the polarity has not be reversed. To further improve the gains offered by these units, disconnect the resistor (on the + side), this allows the vanes to spin up to 88.75% faster. If you have difficulty locating the + and/or -. you have most likely been sold a cheap knock off version. The genuine article was so amazing that factories through-out Asia copied it, resulting in the bankruptacy of the original manufacturer. I stumbled upon the entire remaining stock of genuine articles (ex factory) at an auction recently. Because I'm such a top bloke, I am prepared to release half of this bounty to members of this forum, at cost price, plus a small handling fee and GST, shipping extra. This offer is for a very limited time (until I'm mega rich), and strictly limited to 99 per transaction. So send your order NOW, to PO Box 84217 Quamby Qld 4824, with $68.50 (cash only) per unit, you will save your purchase price in fuel savings during the first month. Be quick, these devices are no longer being made.

Mods, if this should be in the markets, please relocate accordingly.

Best one I heard was from a member on here I sold an RRC too. This unit was going o fit two of the hiclone units to achieve a cyclonic action through the carbs.
