Have been converting my slides to digital .The following are an extracts from the first batch I did.
In July, August and September 1978 a group of 5, [4 landies and a Holden Overlander] Took a trip to Alice Springs, Arnham Land, Gibb River road and home to Perth down the West Coast, Via the Gunbarrel Highway. Unbeknown to us at the time, the desert had received a vast quantity of rain. IE, Glen Ayle Stn normally receives between 3 to 5 inches of rain. In '78 they had around 15 inches.
In one area it took us 6 hours to travel 10 miles! We had my PTO and another one going nearly non stop. There was no way around, you just had to plod on. The surrounding area was worse than the track.
The only slide that has been adjusted is the "Looking Back"
