HELP: Need a new ADSL modem

Can anyone post up some names and model numbers of good, reliable, reasonably priced ADSL2+ modems. Don't want wireless (plugs in to WAN port of wireless 802.11n router).

My modem died tonight. Lost power at home, everything running off UPS, all OK. UPS had been on for a while so time to turn off. Power off everything including the modem, then turn of UPS. Power's back on but modem is stuffed and won't restart. Looked up the modem info on the www and its a no-go:(

So I now need to order a new one. There's lot out there:confused::confused:

I've had a D-link DSL502-t for the last couple of years and it's run faultlessly during that time. It's alway left on and downloaded many hundreds of Gb of torrents. I noticed a big difference from the previous modem (speedtouch) provided by my isp.

I use TP-link. They're cheap, Chinese and remarkably good for their price. I've used them to replace a dead D-link and a dead Seimens.
Not to say D-link is not a good brand but even the good brands can die.
If you want to spend lots of money, get the apple one with the hard drive in. They're great.

Thanks Mick, I have an Apple Time Capsule, but they aren't a modem. That's why I don't need a wireless ADSL modem.

It's not a time capsule.
It's an ASDL router with a hard drive in it. A guy at work is toying with buying one.
I'll see if I can get the model no.

Billion 7300 modem/router or netcomm or linksys. I don't think the brand makes much difference. They should be all around $60-90.

This site has a lot of info re. ADSL modems etc. I bought a Draytek Vigor 2700 ADSL2+ modem/router from him and it has been great. There are probably newer ones now (this was 18 months ago), but Draytek are very good, although not the cheapest. Billion are well regarded as well.

We put Netgear DG834G ADSL2+ 4 port wireless on all our projects. Reliable, easy to configure. Don't want wireless? Disable it.

I have used Draytek's for a few years now, not the cheapest and certainly not the fastest but highly configurable and extremely reliable.
Netgears and Belkin's are good too, but I would stay away from the D-Link units (bad experiences with them).

I have an iiNet branded Belkin unit which I've been using for maybe 4 years. It has VOIP capability which may or may not be overkill for you.

Does your ISP sell cheap hardware?

Went and ordered a Netcomm NB6.

Yep could have got wireless and disabled it but why bother, same with 4 ports. Must say though the choice of single port, non-wireless units is VERY limited.
