A truck steerer or gear cruncher how ever you wish to describe him used his 8th life up just south of town this morning.
He had a sidetipper semi loaded with scrap steel, went off the left side of the road where there was a steep enbankment, snatched it back but the trailer went over the side.He pulled off a full 180deg spin around including a 1 and a half roll over for the whole lot spilling his scrap. The marks on the road are outstanding!!!!Cab was squashed down to the drivers chair, rear diff was torn out of the prime mover. He climbed out bleeding a bit from cuts etc.Was then flown to Perth with suspected back injuries.
Boss is away for a few days, had to send one of my blokes down with a loader to firstly clear the scrap off the hwy then load it up into our sidetipper and cart it away.Heavy recovery took the truck/trailer away.
Good win for us,we get paid for the machinery hire, plus the owner of the scrap also passed ownership of the scrap onto the shire, its now part of our stack at the tip.

Seen a few of those old Lanz Bulldogs at feild days.Dont they produce a nice thumping note!!!!
Today I did work that made me thankfull Im not working on a minesite.
They are almost out of room at the dump and another trench needed starting ASAP.
For the first part of the trench its impossible to get a truck in close enough to get loaded as the digger digs.
We had no trucks available anyhow, semi was shifting machines to the next job and not worth taking the water tanks off the 6 wheelers for a day when the excavator cant load them.
We had the loader(let one of the young blokes steer it for experience) and I had the backhoe carting the spoil 100m bucket full at a time:mad::mad::mad::mad:
