about a month or so ago I helped a friend find himself a rangie:cool:, we diddnt know much about it, all we had was the vehicle ..but I found this site:

Land Rover FAQ - History, Production, Sales - Chassis Numbering (http://www.lrfaq.org/FAQ.3.Chassis_Numbers.html)

(helps if you have your chassis number in front of you of course)

this is very cool, I just found out my discovery is actually a 94' model.. not a 93'.. :D

(no doubt this is in another thread somewhere but I guess it just helps expand others search results)

Early (up to about 1990 ish?) RRC owners should note that there is no VIN on the body, even where that site says it is, so don't waste half a day looking for it.

They only have the chassis number on the chassis in the location described.

This lack of body id has many positive uses.

cheers, DL

When my Rangie was first presented for rego they couldn't find the chassis number, so my license number was used instead.. it also has 'positive uses'
