Well you may all be well aware of my frustrations in trying to find this clicking noise coming from the rear of my D2 when turning fwd or reverse and even louder when locker is engaged?????:(
1st: we stripped the entire diff and rebuilt it changed backlash ect ect ....
2nd :ARB stripped the entire diff and replaced my locker still clicking
3rd: i took out my maxi drive axels and put originals back in still clicking put maxi drives back in:mad:
4th :lent a mates D2 wheels and rims and put them on to see if it was a rim issue still clicking
5th : today i replaced both rear hubs with some nice shiny new ones and to my joy whalla no more clicking

So my 3mnth pain frustration and perseverance has paid of:D:banana::ehigh5::twobeers::beer:

so all you D2 owners out there that have a clicking noise coming from there diff area just change your hubs instead off going through all this above

i think tonight i will be having a few cold ones

trying to work out why all off a sudden i have the 3 amigos
if anyone has a nanocom who can help me it will be much appreciated

cheers kelvin

Always a bugger when you are trying to find issues with your Land Rover, at least you found it in the end. You also learn a lot and do the whole thing a bit quicker the second time around (i've done most jobs on Rangies at least 10 times I reckon over the years :().

Glad you got it all sorted Kelvin, having taken the front end of mine apart many times...time many times, I know what sort of effort is required to do all the work.
I had that ticking noise too, but in the front end. Turns out the lower steering knuckle balljoints were badly worn, so I replaced them and all gone:D
I'm hoping I don't have to replace those hubs soon, mine don't have any play in them at all....but they are very expensive as you probably found out.
