Hi All,
I recently purchased a 2000 ES TD5, knowing there was some work to be done and hopefully paid accordingly. It Was due for 160k service so while i was at it i thought i would try my mechanical skills!!! and replace the oil pump bolt as a bit of insurance. Besides doing the oil change on my D2a i haven't attempted any thing like this.
After a days toil along with kids activities i managed to finish it. Two problems i had which i would like some advice on is
1/ The first bolt to be torqued up was the oil pump bolt supposed to be at 18 ft/lbs however i loaded it up unknowingly till later to app. 30ft/lbs could i have caused a problem.
2/ In my rush to put it back together i was forgot to put some silicone in 3 spots on the sump, i have now driven the car it doesn't seem to be leaking, time will tell. What problems may i have
I am feeling a little bit nervous about trying anything else or are these just some rooky mistakes. Some comments to help me feel better would be appreciated.

BTW the oil pump bolt was tight however hardly an effort to start to undo, it is now FT.
