My p38 drivers door external handle is pulling out. Have undone the door and as far as I can determine the plastic lug from the handle goes into a recessed metal latch piece. It was a bugger to get back in only to pull back out again by my wife once all was back in place again.
Have not been able to see and diagrams of that area of the door latch and wished to know if anything is suppose to secure the plastic lug from the handle piece to the metal recessed piece.
Otherwise I will need to pull down the passenger door to compare and am trying to avoid this.
Regards
Peter

Couldn't find a replacement handle so decided to modify the existing external handle. The lug on the handle was worn out so I trimmed it off and drilled a pilot hole through where the old lug had been and screwed a similar sized shaft screw through it. trimmed off the tail going through the handle flush with the original and cut the screw head off and left about a 6mm long shaft on the side to replace the old peg. Put it back in and what do you it worked. It probably wont take too long to wear out the other part of the latch but we'll cross that bridge later.
Thanks for your help.:)
