As some of you know I am searching for a D3. I'm trying to find out what improvements were made over the product life of the D3 and particularily what mechanical things were changed and when. I assume most computer program updates would be installed to the earlier models as they were serviced? I have had a good look around here but can't seem to find anything.

Hi - which motor were you interested in? The TDV6 fuel system was changed in about August 2006. After that date (MY07), they were EURO4 compliant.
WRT software/updates - most dealers only apply them when asked by the customer.

my preference is for a tdv6 as I think with what I want to do this would be the most practical (long range touring - deserts and fnq). However most of the vehicles that come up in the spec that I want (HSE with options) are the v8's and between 10 - 15K cheaper.
I am seeing mainly 05 models atm but depending on what happened with model updates I would look at a different spec car (SE) in a later year model if the improvements were there.
