I like to set my aircon systems to Recirc in my cars. I can do this in my Mini Cooper D and remain in full auto mode. In the D4 setting Recirc on shuts down the Auto Mode. (if the recirc button is held) Not such a big issue.

Problem is when ever you start the car the default is Recirc Off. Even my Mini can remember its settings and retain full auto and Recirc on.

The Question...

1. Can the car be setup on full auto with Recirc on by default?

I don't think so. With the D3, the car is designed to seal against water ingress for up to 30mins, so I guess the OHS&E mob at LR don't want you suffocating because you forgot to turn the recirc off!
