Hi all

Fitted up my swanky looking ARB diff cover to the Salisbury yesterday, but the new cover does not allow fitment of the original bracket that holds the brake line "T" piece (where the rear brake hose splits from the flexible line to the solid lines).

What have others done? Can I attach a bracket to the top of the diff with a small weld?

Cheers

On my 101 landy which is similar I used a existing cover bolt hole with a longer bolt and bend a piece of flat alloy bar to the shape I needed it.
I had to file and drill a hole in the top of it to take the standard tee for the brake pipes.
The other round steel bar tapped into the cover is the 101s brake proportioning valve arm and is not a fitment on a defender.

I can't see why a couple of tacks to hold it to the diff housing could hurt.
The heat from welding might effect the rubber brake hose though.

CHEERS TIM.

Thanks for the pics.

I might just have a go a fabbing a new bracket and welding it to the top of the diff housing. The union will then just bolt to this bracket.

Will just have to be careful that the heat doesn't effect the fresh gasket.

I'll get some pics up tomorrow (i have a day off work...woohoo)

Cheers
