This may be a stupid question but i have just brought a land rover discovery 2a 2003 model, and the speedo dash cover has become lose and does not clip in.
is there anywhere you can buy clips or any way of fixing this problem as i do not want my dash falling in my lap when i accelerate.
sorry for the stupid questions i am a newbie, haha.

There should be two screws behind the steering wheel/column the hold the instrument binnacle cover in place. The plastic is fairly fragile and the recessed holes the screws bear down on can fracture.
Mine were gone completely so I just painted 2 longer screws and 2 washers black and screwed it down, now the screws are exposed, it looks factory unless you know better.

Hi Dan+Z,
My instrument cover was also getting looser & finally let go last week.
I removed the two screws near steering wheel & lifted off cover. It was obvious that the plastic that clips lock into had cracked from the Aussie heat. I simply glued the broken plastic back into place with Devcon metal epoxy (it sets like steel) & liberally coated the whole area with the epoxy to reinforce it. After epoxy set I clipped cover back into place & good as new.
Cheers..B

My cup holder wasn't working smoothly either.
Remove the ashtray and the coin tray to access the screws. Remove theses and pull out the drink holder. Mine just needed a good clean and I applied a small amount of superlube grease to the mechanism.
It works very smoothly now.
