Cruise control problems D3

Hi
Has anyone had problems with their cruise control not working intermittently. Mine will be fine one time and next time I want to use it it will not work and the only way to get it to work is to stop turn off the engine and restart and it will generaly work. Thanks Howard

There was an issue with the rotary coupler on some D3 steering wheels maybe that could be causing it.

had same issue - very common with 05/06 ; fixed under warranty; lots on it at disco3.co.uk

Have same problem if I turn it on or set whilst accelerating vigourously. Fixed by turning off engine.

Check with your local dealer advising them the VIN & they can check to see if a service action has been done "Q045" from memory, Rotary steering coupling.
If it hasnt then get to your dealer & have this action carried out.
If it is an outstanding action then it is free of charge.
If this doesnt fix it, it may be the cruise control switch pack.

I found that sometimes the cruise would work and then not work. Fixed by switching ignition off and on. I am on my third set of cruise control switches.The first set were fitted a few months after taking delivery in 05. The second set was just a couple of months ago. My servicer (Peninsula Rangie) says that LR have not modified them at all to be more reliable in fact they are the same part number as the ones fitted originally to my 05 model! All good now. The switches come as a complete unit, its the panel next to the left hand horn button. You should be able to swap yourself. Bout $120 to $140 I think.
